Jerry and Tim discuss how the price of milk is determined and some issues that can affect a farmer's bottom line.
In this Episode Tim speaks with Mr. Brent Branco of Tulare County California. Tulare produces the most milk of any county in the United States and also faces one of the toughest environments to operate. On top of the years long water shortage they are more heavily regulated than other states which impacts their use of water and their options for manure and expansion.
Brent is uniquly positioned to give insight on what's happening in Tulare. He's a long term employee of the local John Deer Dealership, Lawrence Tractor. Over the years he's studied many of the new technologies available to dairies and acts as a consultant to a number of farms.
