Lee and his wife, Missy, enjoy going to the beach, but pulling the beach wagon left him feeling tired. A year later, even though he was just four blocks from the beach, Lee had to stop several times because of a burning sensation in his chest and feeling completely worn out.
Dr. Fernando Ruiz discovered severe coronary blockages - 90% in the widowmaker, 80% and 70% in other arteries - and Lee needed bypass surgery and a valve replacement.
After surgery, Lee could barely move his arms and was referred to our Intensive Cardiac Rehab Center to regain his strength and quality of life. Just 12 weeks later, he says he feels better than before, continues his exercise routine at the ICR, and is back to planning trips. Today, Lee is looking forward to what comes next.
