Kevin Strickland, a Kansas City man, has been in prison for 43 years. In 1979, Strickland was convicted of murdering three people.

Earlier this year, the Jackson County Prosecutor's office, which originally convicted Strickland, said in a court motion that his innocence is "clear and convincing."

Strickland remains behind bars as his case is caught in a political fight between Missouri Democrats and Republicans. KCUR’s Luke Martin explains what might happen next.
