The cast catches up on yet another week living in a global pandemic as Joe opens with some exciting entertainment updates such as Superbowl trailers and the game itself, the cast then expresses their excitement of watching Zack Snyder's Justice League after the final trailer dropped just yesterday.  Jon discusses the increased violence against Asian-Americans during COVID-19 in this week's diversity report and Gerardo takes the cast into the final act with a weekly movie review of Judas and the Black Messiah on HBO Max.

Jon is getting ready to become a homeowner this week baby!  This week's diversity report, the casts discusses British actors playing American roles- including some of our favorite Marvel and D.C. super heroes, inspired by a recent Deadline article featuring Regina King.  The cast wraps with a movie review on the Amazon Prime original One Night in Miami; the relationships these historical figures have with each other in the film, our thoughts on Oscar winner Regina King's directorial debut, as well as a few comparisons with actual historical context. 

Jon and Gerardo discuss how playwright & screenwriter Kemp Powers (Soul) translated this one-room play from the stage to the movie screen and elaborate on the diverse perspectives in the film of such prolific black figures.

The cast opens with a heated discussion on the U.S. Capitol building.  Gerardo gets specific with how social media can be more dangerous than the actual news media in today's social climate.  Joe commends his fellow cast mates for having the fortitude to clap back at social media trolls on the Cast of Color Instagram page as Jon gives his thoughts on how he thinks the response from law enforcement towards people of color is night and day in comparison to white people.  The cast wraps with their usual movie review, Disney Pixar's 'Soul' (2020).  Gerardo discusses the consistency of the film's jazz music, Joe admires the score (per usual) and Jon acknowledges the cultural nuances in what the cast describes as one of the first adult Pixar films.  Gerardo leads the entertainment updates, Jon runs the diversity report, the rest is history.

The cast gets together for the final episode of 2020!  The cast opens with catching up and kick some quick study highlights from the 2020 Hollywood Diversity Report part 1 and 2 and also have a spicy discussion on the Instagram page @donewithdiversity for the diversity report section.  The cast wraps with our movie review portion; a thorough dive into Warner Bros. latest DC Comics movie Wonder Woman 84- as Gerardo walks us through the plot while Jon and Joe give their unique feedback on the latest superhero film.

The cast is joined by special guest Anita Dashiell-Sparks from USC School of Dramatic Arts!  Jon and Gerardo open the show and have a brief but opinionated discussion on the MCU 2021 slate, particularly the future of Disney's version of Spider-Man.  The cast goes right into their interview with Anita.  Anita explains her role as the Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.  She and Jon discuss the importance of an inclusive entertainment industry and Anita gives her expertise on the the importance of story-telling by under-represented groups.  Anita puts Jon on game on how the pandemic has inspired theatre students to broaden their forms of creativity. 

Anita Dashiell-Sparks is an associate professor of theatre practice at the USC School of Dramatic Arts. She is a graduate of the prestigious New York University, Tisch School of the Arts’ graduate acting program. Anita is a Maryland distinguished scholar who pursued undergraduate work at the University of Maryland at College Park, earning a degree in theatre. As an actor based in New York and Los Angeles, she has graced the stage on Broadway in Night Must Fall, starring Matthew Broderick, and The Sunshine Boys, starring Tony Randall and Jack Klugman. She has also appeared in numerous off-Broadway and regional theatre productions, including House of Bernada Alba with Chita Rivera at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, as well as directed Letters From Zora at The Pasadena Playhouse. Her recent television appearances include Huff, Friends, The West Wing, The Division and the Hallmark film McBride: The Doctor Is Out.
