The Catholic Church has long believed in mystics and mysticism, but a large number of Catholics struggle with mystics and mysticism.  Yes saints are popular, but events and occurances not easily explained leave Catholics struggling to believe.  Many put god in a box, and like everything structured like the mass is.  Catholics need to enjoy everything god has to offer, even if it is out of their comfort zone.
