Peter and the guys had been fishing all night and caught nothing. Jesus told him to go to the deep water and cast their nets one more time. Peter reluctantly did, and his nets were so over loaded with fish they couldn't bring them all in. God has a time for all of us to have aplenty, we need to be willing to cast our nets into the deep water at Gods appointed time. Just believe and trust.
There is a scene from my favorite movie of all time, "The Holiday" where Jack Black first meets Kate Winslet and so sweetly gets the eyelash out of her eye. God continues to bring that scene to the forefront of my thoughts these days. “Ya know, legend has it that when the Santa Ana’s blow, all bets are off. Anything can happen.”Yep. That describes exactly where we are right now in the world and how I feel even about my personal life. All bets are off.Anything can happen.I feel this to the core of my spirit and I mean it in the most hopeful way. While the war between good and evil rages on, we do know how it ends. Love wins. If God is for you, who can be against you?I feel like I am on Holiday at the moment. Nothing in my life is how it was. Not even my rigid, inflexible habits. For example, normally I need to eat before 7pm and not drink alcohol, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to sleep.Last night, I decided to have a glass of wine while we recorded the podcast I've been doing with my friend Jeff, then drink a little more wine, then eat dinner at around 8:30.And I slept like a baby. For 10 hours.I'm not sure what exactly is going on. But all bets are off. Anything can happen.God told me this would be a special time of healing, restoration, and nourishment for me, and it has. Replenishment was the word He used. And He has been showering me with not only grace and love but lots of communication. He loves to communicate. After all, He spoke the universe into existence. The root of communicate is “commune” which when used as a verb means “intimate and intense communication.”It’s been intense. And so, God continues to tell me “walk by faith and not by sight” and “Things are not what they appear to be.”All bets are off. Anything can happen. After all, FAITH is believing that reality is not how it appears to be in the physical realm. Jesus looked dead on the cross, and in fact, HE WAS dead. But things didn't stay that way. This morning in my prayer time, I wasn’t really picking up on anything God was saying. I couldn’t hear Him because my neighbor was out on his patio talking to who I presume to be his daughter.Suddenly God responded by saying, “Stephanie, did it ever occur to you that I AM speaking to you right now, in your natural environment. Why don’t you pay attention to what this FATHER is saying to HIS DAUGHTER?”Ooooh! Ok, God, I hear ya! (Sometimes the most obvious answer is the answer.)And this was all I heard him say… but it was enough.“Honey, I am just so happy and excited for you. And I’m excited for me, too, because I get to be a part of it all through you. Okay see you soon. I love you.”Mike drop! Enough said. The winds are blowing.Biblically, east winds come to bring judgement and destroy all that is wicked while the west winds come to bring relief and replenishment… to reward the righteous. Both are blowing right now.Can you feel them? I bet you can.Stay close to the Lord through these storms. Hold on tightly to HIM. Remember things are not what they seem, and faith does move mountains and it’s all going to be okay. Because LOVE wins. All bets are off. Anything can happen
