Recruited from North Geelong, Bill Goggin developed into one of the Cats’ greatest ever players chalking up 248 games in the blue and white.
A dual best and fairest winner, he was also a premiership player and captain of the club for 84 games.
Bill Goggin’s commitment to Geelong far exceeded his illustrious playing career as he also coached the club from 1980-82, following a little over two years at the helm of Footscray and premiership success in the VFA with Geelong West.
Selected in Geelong’s Team of the Century, Bill Goggin is a member of the AFL’s Hall of Fame, also coaching Victoria in state-of-Origin football from 1989 to 1993.
