The CBN News Daily Rundown - Audio Podcast

It takes a team to get a newscast on the air and every team needs a coach.

In news that coach is a producer.

However, exactly what a producer does is a bit of a mystery to many people.

Today on the CBN News Daily Rundown Shoshannah Nuñez, producer of CBN's Faith Nation, sheds light on her unicorn status.

George Thomas has traveled to so many countries he's lost count.

As CBN News Sr. International Correspondent, George mingles with other cultures while covering religious persecution, war, and - well - you name it.

Today on the CBN News Daily Rundown he explains how God has equipped him to excel in this demanding job.

UK election results are in and the conservatives now have their biggest majority in parliament since Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s. The people have clearly spoken: they want to get out of the EU and they want it done as soon as possible. Senior International correspondent Dale Hurd has been covering this story and he's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

First responders face traumatic situations on a regular basis. The effects of that stress can lead to serious health problems. In the northeast, one family has provided several police departments with a special kind of therapy: comfort dogs. Listen in on today's CBN News Daily Rundown as I talk about covering this story and about the incredible dogs I got to meet who are serving first responders.

Israel appears to be heading towards its third election within a year. The parliament began voting to dissolve itself today after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party and Benny Gantz's opposition Blue and White party failed to form a new government after the last election. CBN News Senior Editor John Waage has covered Israeli politics for years, he's on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

This morning House Democrats unveiled two articles of impeachment, accusing President Trump of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The Judiciary committee is expected to vote on the articles by the end of the week, with a full House vote expected next week.

“I think there are two impeachment votes here…I think the first impeachment vote is by House democrats in December of 2019 and I think the second impeachment vote is in November of 2020 by the American people. They will eventually decide whether or not they thought House democrats were right to impeach this President,” Senior Political Analyst David Brody said on today’s CBN News Daily Rundown.

“Africans across the continent…are sharing their personal stories of how they met Jesus Christ at a Reinhard Bonnke crusade 10-15 years ago and they’re still believers. I think that’s the legacy, that’s the lasting impact of Bonnke’s obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ," said Senior International Correspondent George Thomas on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.

Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke passed away over the weekend at the age of 79. For six decades, the German-born preacher crisscrossed the African continent preaching the love of Jesus Christ.

Listen in to today's episode as Thomas remembers attending one of Bonnke's crusades back in 1985, interviewing him in 2010 and looks back at a calling that changed a nation.

Tis the season for giving! Everyone is flooding the stores trying to find the perfect holiday gifts.  In the midst of it all, there is a nugget:  while it may not feel good to your wallet, research shows giving is good for your health.  And if you want to give your wallet a break, the most valuable gift for both the giver and receiver does not cost money.

CBN News Medical Correspondent has more on the giving/health connection.

Democrat presidential candidates have pledged to use the power of the law to enforce even more censorship from Big Tech, calling on Silicon Valley to crackdown on "hate speech." The trouble is that as Big Tech censors "hate," it's also silencing Christian and conservative content. Caitlin Burke recently spoke with a veteran who decided to fight back against Christian censorship, by creating a platform specifically meant to give them a voice.

In 2017, USA gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in federal prison for first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He'd sexually abused more than 160 girls and women over more than two decades. The first woman to come forward was Rachael Denhollander. Her accusations emboldened many other victims to come forward. Reporter Heather Sells recently sat down with Denhollander to talk about her experience. She says this is a platform she never wanted, but it's important that she be a good steward of it, all the same, because other victims are watching. Sells is on today's CBN News Daily Rundown.
