James the Great, the other brother of thunder, paved his own way alongside his brother John as two of the most prominent disciples of Jesus Christ. How easy would it be to live in the shadow of someone else’s success? We each have destinations, goals, and achievements on the way, but we have to run our own race. Focus on your own walk with Jesus Christ and HE will show HIMSELF just like the mount of Transfiguration.

How far are you willing to walk in obedience? The only way to achieve the plans God has for you is to follow HIS direction wholeheartedly. The miracles we open ourselves to will tear down your walls, part your seas, and ultimately lead you to the promised land. We continue striving to live our new mantra, 99% obedience is still 100% disobedience.

When our faith is tested and foundation shaken how do we react? Studies show 10 out of 12 people are unwilling to face their giants. Joshua walked in obedience and led the Israelites to the promised land, defeating giants, destroying walls, and splitting the Jordan along the way. Imagine the miracles that could happen in our lives if we walked in the same obedience.

“You are the light of the world” We should strive to be Christlike and driven to help those around us out of their darkness. We are charged with spreading the good news through the way we live our lives. Centering your life around Jesus Christ builds integrity and demands surrender to the purpose God has placed on you. The more we share our own light, the more others will shine brighter.

Fall Forward, a concept Denzel Washington championed in his commencement speech at Penn University in 2011. We must commit to always moving forward even when we get knocked down. Never give up on the dreams God has placed on you. The greatest athletes, actors, inventors and the most successful people have an unfaltering commitment to falling forward. Our faith in Christ coupled with discipline and development ensure the outcomes God has planned for us.

The beloved disciple, John, one of Jesus' three closest followers and an eventual leader of the church. Much like Peter and his brother James, John was a fisherman transformed into a fisher of men. Jesus loved John so much he asked for John to care for his mother, Mary, after his crucifixion. John witnessed some of Jesus' greatest miracles and attributed 4 books to the bible. What a story.

From Sinner to Saint, transformed from Levi to Matthew, gift of God. Follow ME. Two simple yet powerful words Jesus Christ used to disrupt and ultimately change countless lives. Jesus will meet you where you’re at whether it’s in a pew or a barstool. “For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” What a blessing. Even sinners, like us, and tax collectors, like Matthew, are worthy of saving.

How do we get to where God has called us to be? It takes courage, commitment, discipline, and willingness. The path to reaching your goals and living Centered in Christ is tough, but so very worth it. We have to set SMART goals. We have to build strong habits. We have to be mindful of what it means to be Christlike. You have to choose every single day to be better than yesterday. Together we rise.
