  • What we’re doing differently, better and more of for 2023, Pt. 1

I’m baaack! I’m kicking off season two and episode 34 with goals for 2023–to do things differently, better and more!

I closed out season one back in December talking about my upcoming event, which took place January 8. Now I want to share the dynamic conversations that came out of that event, and how the amazing women who attended that event are ready to star in their own life story instead of playing supporting cast. Listen to the brave and impactful stories from the event participants.

Collaborating with me again is the founder and the face of the DMV Does social group, Jennifer Lea, and Dr. Dana of Integr8 Medspa. You can find and connect with them on Instagram @jennuinesolutions and @integr8medspa.

  • What do the lonely do at Christmas? Featuring Bravo TV’s Dr. Ken

It's my last episode of 2022, so I had to make sure I left you in good hands! Today I’m joined by a very familiar face and smile! It belongs to Dr. Ken, mental health expert and licensed professional clinical counselor to individuals and families, along with premarital and relationship counseling for couples. He is the featured marriage counselor and coach on the Bravo TV franchises, Married to Medicine, the RHOA and the RHOP.

If soulful Christmas songs were played in your household you know the song, What Do the Lonely Do at Christmas… Today’s conversation is at the intersection of Dr. Ken’s specialties in both relationships and grief. Dr. Ken is here to talk to us about what the lonely can do at Christmas. We’re talking grief, and grieving a relationship and other losses during the holiday season.

You can find and connect with Dr. Ken at drken.life, and on Instagram and Facebook @drkencounseling.

  • Ever wanted to write a book? Author Bridgette Alfred shows us how it can help you heal.

This is a Thankgsiving miracle… An episode from my lost files! We experienced some technical difficulties during recording that made it seemingly impossible to release the episode. I was able to recover parts of the conversation, and the tone and timing of this conversation could not be more perfect for this time of year.

Bridgette Alfred is a past attendee from one of my workshops at the Maryland Department of Labor where I’d presented my ITSME approach. Bridgette penned a novel as a tribute to her mother who’d passed in 2016. She shares how her mother’s history helped her face her own childhood trauma and to heal. And she penned it well into her retirement, which goes to show you it’s never too late to heal and that your past is always a part of your story.

Is journaling a part of your healing and self-care toolkit? Have you ever wanted to self-publish a book? Bridgette’s story gives you some insight into the book writing and her experience working with a small, independent publisher while sharing her story and tools for healing after loss, change and trauma.

You can find Bridgette Alfred and her book, When There is H.O.P.E. at thereishopealways.com, and search her page “Hope Is Real Devotional” on Facebook.

  • Is it ok to be emotional over my divorce? Holiday Blues and a Special Emcee Q+A:

This week we have an emotional Emcee Q+A from a listener who’ll be navigating divorce in the middle of the holiday season. For many this is the kickoff to what’s often described as the happiest season of all… We gather, give thanks, and look forward to reconnecting to loved ones… But for so many others it’s a difficult time of year–as we begin to grieve the people we’ve lost, relationships that have ended, and even mourn the absence of the relationships we want. It can feel more like the holiday blues.

I’m going to shift gears as we move into the holiday season. I brand myself as The Change Coach, but what I don’t mention often is that I’m a certified grief recovery specialist. Grief is a normal and human reaction to change and the Grief Recovery Method® is a comprehensive, evidenced-based program that I use and believe in. There are so many events and losses that don’t get the healing and recovery they need. So as we head into the holiday season, I want to share tips and resources from my grief and change frameworks, and the Grief Recovery Method®.

  • Online dating: How to get a match, and how to get a meet up!

My emcees will remember Corey Belin from Episode 24, and his pot-stirring male perspective in the conversation of dating after divorce or separation! After that show Corey pitched online dating to me as a show idea. You’ve seen Corey on Ninja Warrior, and season 4 of the Oprah Winfrey Network TV show, Ready to Love. Now he’s producing a hilariously scripted comedy "tightly based" on his life and experience with online dating and navigating the first date! He now calls himself the First Date King. Midway through our conversation I bring in my second guest, Dr. Kayra Alvarado–an educator and influencer who also served as a community marketing manager with Bumble–to empower women to make the first move, and to confidently move off the app and into first dates.

You can find and connect with Dr. Kayra Alvarado at @kayrazalvarado on Instagram. You’ll find Corey on Instagram at @coreybelin and @1stdateking, and at www.1stdateking.com.

  • A Live, Influencer Media Coaching Session, with TikTok Influencer @Dasiasaysso

This week you get to be the fly on the wall of another great media coaching session! This time with TikTok influencer and entrepreneur, Dasia Miles-Langaigne, known on TikTok as @dasiasaysso.

This is a great time to have these types of sessions with Dasia, because her star is on the rise for sure. She’s already been credited for a spike in sales of the New York Times Best Seller, “Get Good With Money” which even led to her being mentored by the book’s author, financial influencer Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche. So Dasia is ready to fine tune her pitching skills and improve her delivery as she readies herself for paid partnerships and collaborations as an influencer.

You can follow and connect with Dasia on TikTok @dasiasaysso, and get her self-care essentials at  sincerelysanguine.com/.

  • Change After Weight Gain and Weight Loss, with DMV DOES' Jennifer Lea and Integr8 Wellness and MedSpa's Dana Rader

There’s one name you need to know to get social in the DMV. That’s Jennifer Ward, known on Facebook as Jennifer Lea–founder of the DMV Does social group on Facebook. DMV Does is a 20K+ member social group founded to to connect individuals and families across the DC, Maryland and northern Virginia cities that make up the DC and Baltimore metro areas. And that makes Jennifer the face of the brand! I reached out to Jennifer after seeing her post very openly about her weight loss journey. She told me about medically-supervised regimen and provider, Dana Rader.

Dana Rader is the owner of the boutique wellness and medical spa in Crofton, MD–just minutes from my house and I’ll be paying it a visit very soon! Dana is a doctorally prepared, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years experience as a healthcare provider. Today we’re talking about change after weight gain and weight loss. I want to talk about the mental and emotional weight we carry alongside the physical change—how it can shake our confidence, and how to get it back.

You can follow and join the “DMV DOES” group on Facebook and on Instagram @dmvdoes, and connect with Jennifer Ward @jennuinesolutions. You can connect with Dana Green and her clinic at [email protected] and www.integr8wellnessandhealth.com, and on Instagram at @integr8medspa.
