  • E67: Kristen Swinehart: From Attorney to Psychic Medium, How to Trust Your Intuition and Follow Your True Calling

I always say the power of this podcast has been the remarkable women behind the remarkable stories. These are women who have not only experienced change in their lives but have ultimately transformed how they view themselves, their inner gifts, and the power they have to create their own path.

Today’s guest is another incredible woman to add to the list as she made several life pivots that took her from law school to a practicing medium, helping people connect with their loved ones after they’ve left this earth.

Kristen Swinehart shares her pivot from attorney to psychic medium and how to trust your intuition and follow your calling.

Kristen Swinehart is a “recovering attorney” who swapped courtrooms for spiritual channels and represents the dead instead of the living. Now, as a medium, channel of Archangel Raphael, and flight attendant, she guides her clients on earthly and otherworldly journeys- with a touch of humor and a lot of heart.

In this episode, Kristen and I discuss:

    • Kristen’s unconventional path from attorney to discovering her psychic mediumship abilities through spiritual practice.
    • The importance of trusting your intuition and following the subtle nudges that lead to unexpected paths of deeper fulfillment.
    • How Kristen has woven being a medium with her career as a flight attendant to become “The Flying Medium”, helping people discover their next spiritual destination.

Follow your intuition; if it feels harder than it should be, it might not be the right thing at the right time for you.

Change is inevitable. That’s why I designed the Day by Daybook®, a guided journal to help you face the discomfort of those shifts in life that are pushing you to that next level of growth and learning. Get your Day by Daybook® here.

  • E66: Finding Your Courage to Make it Happen

Courage is often difficult to build, especially when change happens to us unexpectedly. When facing the unknown, our insecurity often soars and fear can creep in pretty quickly when we don’t know where a shift in our lives will take us.

But know this– courage is not only needed to initiate and navigate change, but it helps you get past what’s holding you back.

Courage is the driving force that moves you toward where you want to go in life. This week on Journeys Through Change, I am wrapping up the 6 pillars outlined in my Change Maker Series as I talk about finding your courage to make it happen.

The steps toward making a meaningful transformation I cover are:

    1. Get over your urge to flee.
    2. Let go of your need to be right.
    3. Let the universe do its thing.
    4. Know your well-being is inevitable.

As a reminder, it is important to give yourself time and grace as you bravely step into the person you are meant to become.

Change is inevitable. That’s why I designed the Day by Daybook®, a guided journal to help you face the discomfort of those shifts in life that are pushing you to that next level of growth and learning. Get your Day by Daybook® here.

  • E65: Gianine Strang: Teaching Others to Heal Past Trauma Through Movement

Our bodies are not just vessels to carry us through life, they are reservoirs of wisdom and emotion.

Every experience, every trauma, and every joy we encounter leaves its mark on our bodies. Like silent witnesses, our bodies store this energy, often manifesting as discomfort or unease when left untreated.

Gianine Strang learned this firsthand after spending years undoing the trauma she unknowingly held in her body. And once she found the key to healing, she began teaching others how to do it for themselves. This week on Journeys Through Change, my guest Gianine Strang and I are talking about how she learned to teach others to heal past trauma through movement.

Gianine’s passion for dance led her to the University of the Arts, where she immersed herself in the world of movement. However, life, as it often does, took an unexpected turn. Gianine encountered personal trauma that shook the very foundation of her being. It was a pivotal moment that set her on a path of deep healing, thus the founding of Movement Medicine. Through healing sessions, in-person workshops, group coaching programs, and monthly memberships, Gianine helps people transform, shedding the layers of societal conditioning that have kept us detached from our bodies and rediscovering the innate wisdom that lies within.

In this episode, Gianine and I discuss:

    • How a traumatic experience working for a dance company led to a host of other mental and physical challenges.
    • Her journey to finding joy in movement again was the catalyst for her passion to help others heal by releasing trauma in their bodies.
    • Finding a balance between the unconscious mind and movement is the key to reconnecting with your body and releasing trapped emotions.

Change is inevitable. That’s why I designed the Day by Daybook®, a guided journal to help you face the discomfort of those shifts in life that are pushing you to that next level of growth and learning. Get your Day by Daybook® here.

  • E64: Become Unstoppable by Strengthening Your Resilience

The topic of resiliency is one of my favorites to talk about because like it or not, it has everything to do with how we cope with our world when the ground is constantly shifting beneath our feet.

Our ability to be resilient at any time can either make or break our experience in life, powering us through or stopping us in our tracks. This week on Journeys Through Change, I continue my series covering the 6 pillars outlined in my Change Maker Series as I discuss becoming unstoppable by strengthening your resilience.

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Strengthening our emotional regulation muscle so we can manage our emotions and reactions in unfavorable situations, allowing us to reduce and manage our stress.
    • Maintaining a hopeful and positive mindset even in difficult times.
    • Being persistent and having the determination to stay committed to your goals despite any setbacks that arise.

I want you to start thinking about adversity and challenge as a stepping stone to greater strength and personal growth. This will feel difficult at times, but all that is put in your path is meant to make you stronger and knowing this helps you tackle anything that comes your way.

Change is inevitable. That’s why I designed the Day by Daybook®, a guided journal to help you face the discomfort of those shifts in life that are pushing you to that next level of growth and learning. Get your Day by Daybook® here.

  • E59: Kelsey Moreira: How Sobriety Led Her to Forbes 30 Under 30 and Breaking the Stigma of Mental Health and Addiction Recovery

For any of us who have experienced a pivotal moment in our past and made a decision that (over time) proved to be of greater significance than we ever thought possible, we understand what true transformation feels like.

Today’s guest is no stranger to this feeling after her decision to get sober mixed with her sheer drive and determination led to a series of serendipitous moments on her path to success.

This week on Journeys Through Change, my guest Kelsey Moreira and I are talking about how sobriety led her to Forbes 30 Under 30, while breaking the stigma around mental health and addiction!

Kelsey Moreira is a wildly passionate entrepreneur who, after getting sober in 2015, ditched her decade-long tech career with Intel and followed her sweet tooth to open her own cookie dough company: Doughp.

Kelsey has appeared twice on ABC’s Shark Tank, was named a Forbes 20 Under 30, an Inc Female Founder 200, and even ranked #274 in the Inc 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America. Given her personal recovery journey, she has become a leader in the mental health & recovery advocacy space.

Since starting the #Doughp4Hope initiative in 2018, Doughp has committed to reducing stigmas around addiction recovery and mental health inside and outside the company. They are a designated Recovery Friendly Workplace and have donated more than $100,000 to nonprofits working in this space.

In this episode, Kelsey and I discuss:

    • Kelsey’s intense desire to overachieve and be “perfect” led her to use alcohol as a way to escape and the breaking point that told her enough was enough.
    • How her edible cookie dough company, Doughp started with a cart and a wagon and grew into a massive, wildly successful business.
    • The #Doughp4Hope initiative’s way of advocating for mental health and addiction recovery.

  • E58: How to Create a Mindset that Propels you Forward

Have you ever noticed how a single negative thought can create a cascade of self-doubt, crushing your courage and curiosity and derailing everything in its wake? That’s because our mind is SO powerful. One of the biggest tenets of becoming a changemaker is mastering your mindset. This week on Journeys Through Change, I’m sharing how to create a mindset that propels you forward!

    In this episode, I discuss:

    • Slow down and recognize the negative or self-defeating thoughts that are floating around in your head.
    • Give your fear a voice but not a vote– fear can help us see how far we’ve come or how far we have left to go but can become a huge roadblock if we let it take over.
    • Practice gratitude as a way to interrupt chaotic or negative feelings and shift your perspective immediately.
    • Simple ways you can cultivate more gratitude in your life.

You are the gatekeeper of your own mind. That means it's up to you to only accept the good stuff and not allow anything in that is going to get in the way of creating a better you.
