The Christmas story could have been a nightmare if the people involved had their way. Joseph would have divorced Mary, the Magi would have reported back to Herod, and Herod would have killed Jesus. But Jesus’ coming reminds us that although humanity can make a mess out of God’s good plans for us, it only takes Jesus to turn our nightmares into dreams. In the initial message of our "Dreaming of Christmas" series, Pastor Mark shared how the past sins of our family tree can be turned into dreams of grace.
Most of us would not designate ourselves as being rich, but in comparison to the rest of the world, most of us are. When blessed bountifully, we face the choice to either succumb to temptation and misuse our blessings or see it as an opportunity to do good. This weekend Pastor Brandon discusses the main temptations and opportunities we face when money is plenty.
When money is tight, it makes generosity more sacrificial and potentially feels like more of an obligation. This Sunday, Pastor Brandon explores Paul’s message to the Corinthians on how God takes what we give to others and provides an abundant return.
Money is on everyone’s mind right now. We are either thinking about increased prices, inflation, or interest rates with the reflex to be more fiscally conservative. So how do we go about that? What areas of our finances should we be more cautious? This weekend Pastor Brandon will share how the apostle Paul gives us clear instructions on what to do when money is tight.
Countless situations can cause us to feel hopeless and fearful. Death and sickness are two such desperate situations that many of us face. This Sunday Pastor Mark shares through the story of the pending death of a twelve-year-old daughter and the shameful twelve-year bleeding disease of a woman, how desperate situations require us to display a scary faith. Be sure to invite a friend or family member to sit with you this Sunday!
