Why can we rejoice in suffering? In 1 Peter 1:6-7, we see the Bible talk about rejoicing in suffering when it says, "In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." Join the Chara team as they take CHARA in Action to look at the history and author of this passage to help us understand why we can rejoice in suffering.

So which is it? Join the Chara Project team as they take CHARA into Action and discover what James is communicating in his letter, and how we should think about faith and works.

When can we expect wisdom from God? Well in James 1:5, it says, "if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him." So does that mean that every time we go to God and ask for wisdom, He'll give it? Join the Chara Project team as they take CHARA into Action as they discover what this verse is talking about.

There are certain verses in the Bible, that when we read them we wonder if they still apply to us today. For example, when we read in 1 Timothy 2:9 that “women are to dress themselves in modest clothing, with decency and good sense, not with elaborate hairstyles, gold, pearls, or expensive apparel" how does that impact how women should dress in our culture today? Is it a cultural truth or a timeless truth? Find out as the Chara team takes CHARA into Action and discusses how to determine if a verse is cultural vs timeless.
