Wow

I have actually read this book many times before, however, my copy was lost when I moved so I decided to buy the eBook. This is one of my all time favorite books. The love story of Eddy and Rachael is so beautifully and eloquently described that I actually felt Rachel's grief when he died. I do not generally read romance novels, but this book is above and beyond any romance novel. This is not the first time I've read it and it probably won't be my last.

For me, this book had its share of Romance which did not offend or insult, but was believable and one that you wanted to cheer on. I did not walk away baffled as to why she liked him or he liked her.

At times the author played that fine line emotional game of "who to trust", sometimes causing the heroine to seem whiny, but not overtly so. But I thought about it and decided that if I was to question the very people who I love on the words and doubts of a stranger, how would I react, I realized she was due some whininess.

I would also say that subplot story from WWII was interesting and classic BJ. The story could have stood well without it, but with it in the entire plot, the story did not hurt or derail.

I am normally a LH fan, and avidly awaited her latest book and was hugely disappointed by the implausibility of it, even though it was fiction. When this book was released I anticipated some sort of disappointment. But I was suprisingly impressed with the dialogue amongst the characters, fast paced nature of the adventure and I really did care who was the killer by the time I got to the climax. So many times books play with the reader that we lose interest in who what why. This book was a great precursor for summer reading. I recommend everyone to try it. It does not insult your intelligence, yet does not try to teach you about WWII history. It is what it sets out to be, a fictional contemporary romance. Thank you Brenda Joyce.

NO DISAPPOINTMENT HERE

Only the treasured few "favorites" have their permanent place on my bookshelves. Since reading The Chase for the third time, I've realized I have a genuine liking to mysteries surrounding WWII. BJ's contemporary novels are favored, but several others grace my keeper shelves. You won't regret the read. I highly recommend The Chase.

Great book

This book has more than one part to it but it's still revolves around the main characters. Had a surprise ending.
