  • Chasing Location, Not The Money

Benjamin Davis turned his Google Ads freelancing into JB Marketing because being able to pack a bag and leave was the point, not the money.

Benjamin started JB Marketing, a Google Ads agency for e-commerce brands, just under a year ago with his business partner James. The first five or six months ran without any real tracking of revenue, profit, or fulfilment cost. Growth was strong but there was no centralised storage of data and no clear view of the numbers. He built an internal portal that holds every client, retainer, and process in one place. Now the team tracks profit per employee, profit per client, tooling costs, and uses RAG ratings with CSAT scores to time referral asks.

Benjamin plans to keep travelling long-term while only building portal features that the team requests or that move the business. He will only hire when the tracked client numbers say it is time, not on gut feeling.

  • The Fake Legal Letter That Killed It

Six months in, Dennis got an email that looked like a real legal notice claiming his product was copyrighted and he was about to get sued.

He took the whole store down with about 1,100 orders still in transit, the chargebacks piled up, his payouts got frozen, and he lost all the money. A friend at a New York event looked at the notice and told him it was fake, sent by a competitor.

His first goal is to roll out a custom-manufactured product he has spent five rounds of samples designing for the beauty store. He also wants to push Five World to 1,000 members and put on a live event for them.

  • From A Levels to a Team of Five

Finley Hyett owns a social media marketing agency in South Wales, which he started building at sixteen through drop shipping.

The drop shipping course ate his savings from a Saturday and Sunday job and never made real money. He got three A stars at AS level, went back for one month, and quit, telling his parents he was done with school.

Finley plans to move to Austin in March next year, taking the British hospitality model into the US market.
