Monica Neal is a brand communications consultant, In this capacity, she delivers effective communications and marketing strategies to improve loyalty, customer and consumer retention, strong brand identity, and compelling messaging. Develop calculated, long-term plans that extend brand lifespan and success. Additionally, she advise clients on brand positioning, business development, and go-to market execution.
Previously she served as Executive Vice President, Brand Marketing and Partnerships for the Harlem Globetrotters International, Inc. In this role, she has direct responsibility and oversight for all brand marketing efforts, digital/social media programs, public relations initiatives and sponsorship sales management.
Prior to her time with Globetrotters, Neal was Senior Vice President, Public Relations for TV One. In this role she conceives, plans and directs the full scope of network communications and public relations strategies, including corporate communications, program publicity, media relations, public affairs, talent relations, and social media initiatives, across all media platforms.
Before joining TV One, Neal served as Vice President of Emerging Markets and Dayparts for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). In her role, Neal led a team responsible for building consumer-centric, integrated marketing campaigns for acquired and original series to grow each network’s reach and ratings, including the multi-award winning launch campaign for CONAN on tbs.
Prior to this role, she served as station manager of Peachtree TV, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.’s local Atlanta broadcast platform. There, she oversaw all day-to-day operations of the channel, which features blockbuster primetime movies and a daytime lineup packed with popular sitcoms targeted to Atlanta’s local audience, as well as Braves baseball and local events.
Neal previously served as vice president Operations, Strategy and New Products Group, where she was directly responsible for managing strategic priorities and initiatives. She also drove the development and implementation of long-term strategies and potential business opportunities for new business growth on multiple platforms.
Neal joined Turner Broadcasting’s New Products Group in 2005 as vice president/senior project leader. In this role, she evaluated and shaped new product ideas by looking at strategic analysis, consumer needs and competitive and economic analyses. She coordinated product development efforts among cross-divisional areas.
Neal joined Turner Broadcasting in 2000 as director of public relations for Turner South and was promoted to vice president in 2002. In 2004, she added publicity oversight for Turner Classic Movies to her duties.
Neal came to Turner Broadcasting from Court TV, where she served as director of corporate communications and handled media relations for many of that network’s signature series. Prior to that, she was director of corporate communications for Nickelodeon; associate director of media relations at ABC, Inc. /Disney; manager of corporate affairs for HBO, Inc.; and production associate for ABC’s Good Morning, America. Neal holds a bachelor’s degree from Smith College in Northampton, Mass.
