Nancy has been Head of Investments and Chief Investment Officer working across both traditional and alternative asset classes at multiple firms since 2002. She held the position for eight years at Fortune Asset Management, then for another ten at Close Brothers Asset Management after it acquired the previous firm. She served in that role at Alvarium Investments from 2020 until it merged to create AlTi.

Nancy’s early experience includes senior investment roles as Managing Director at Schroders in venture capital and Head of global equities for the mutual fund business, as well as Head of Emerging Markets and a member of Global Asset Allocation for Baring Asset Management, where she also built a private equity business. She also led investments in a large single-family office, focused on private equity and real estate, building a private equity presence in Germany. 

In 2014, Nancy joined the board at Digital Bridge Group Inc., a global real estate investment and operating firm with a focus on digital infrastructure. She has been Chairperson of the Board since 2021. 

Nancy is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Princeton University and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

On this episode of The Chief podcast, we were joined by Tracy Vegro OBE Chief Executive Officer at CISI.
Tracy joined the CISI in September 2022. She was previously Executive Director, Strategy and Innovation at the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), leading on delivery of the SRA’s Corporate Strategy and heading up the Innovation, Regulatory and Education Policy and Research & Analysis teams as part of her portfolio.
 
 Prior to that, Tracy was Executive Director, Strategy and Resources at the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), the Regulator of accounting, audit and corporate governance. She led the Strategy and Resources, Risk, HR, Communications and Economics teams, alongside her wider Executive Committee responsibilities. She was the FRC’s Diversity Champion and led on a number of initiatives aimed at boosting diversity on FTSE boards.
 
 She was awarded an OBE in the 2020 New Year Honours list for services to Business and Diversity. Before taking Executive roles in these regulated sectors, Tracy was a Senior Civil Servant in Whitehall. She started as a new graduate, gaining wide experience of developing strategy and policy, delivering new legislation and major public policy campaigns in key economic sectors, such as Competition Policy, Company Law, Financial Services Energy and Equalities legislation.
 
 During her time as a Civil Servant Tracy was selected for the High Potential Development Programme and was able to undertake several secondments into the private sector. Including to the Co-operative Group, working on the Co-operative Bank recapitalisation, before staying on for a further year to implement wider governance reforms at the Co-operative Group following the late Lord Myners’ review of its corporate governance.
 
 Tracy is currently a Non-Executive Director at Salix Finance and the Financial Services Skills Commission (FSSC), and she chairs the Regulatory Response Unit (RRU) for LawTechUK. Tracy is also a member of the Cabinet Office’s Major Project Leadership Academy (MPLA) and a member of Oxford University Said Business School and City of London Corporation’s Leaders of Tomorrow alumni groups.

Salman Haider’s banking career spans over 25 years across EMEA and Asia. He has spent most of his career in Wealth Management leadership roles in addition to Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Global Markets experience. 

Salman started his banking career with Habib Bank AG Zurich in London, before moving to Citi in 2001, where he held various roles in London, Zurich and Singapore. His last role at Citi was Asia Pacific Head for Citi’s Citigold client segment and launched Citigold Private Client for HNW clients in the region. Salman then joined JPMorgan in 2010 as Head of South East Asia PWM for the Private Bank in Singapore, where he built the HNW business for the firm. Salman moved from Asia back to London in 2015 and returned to Citi to run the U.K. Consumer Bank and International Personal Banking EMEA. In 2018 Salman joined Barclays Private Bank in London as the International Private Bank Head (ex-Europe), responsible for Africa, Middle East, India onshore and Asia. 

In his current role he is CEO for the Global Wealth Management business for Habib Bank AG Zurich since 2021, responsible for building the bank’s Private Banking business in Zurich and Dubai (DIFC), serving UHNW clients across Asia, Africa, Middle East and Europe.
