The Children's Hour

This time on The Children's Hour, get spooked out with us as we celebrate kids' favorite holiday: Halloween! We've got spooky ghost stories from Bill Harley, Katherine Dines, AJ, and Show Mo and the Monkey Bunch.

This time on The Children’s Hour, we learn from two people who have dedicated their lives to being leaders in their communities. First, the kids chat with Pierce Freelon, who is a multi-Emmy winning TV and movie producer, Grammy winning children’s musician, educator, and city councilor in the city of Durham, North Carolina. Pierce talks about how he came to wear all these hats, and explains to us what it is a city councilor actually does.

We're getting inspired by the two time Grammy nominated Alphabet Rockers founders, Kaitlin McGaw and Tommy Shepherd. Then Thaniel from our Kids Crew has a review of Arnold Lobel's classic book for kids, Frog and Toad All Year. Mixed with great music.

Are you hungry, because we're cooking on this episode of The Children's Hour. We'll be making a kale salad with Kids Cook's Sara Robbins.

This time on The Children's Hour, we explore wolves. We learn about their role as an apex predator, and how conservation efforts are saving them from extinction.

On this episode of The Children's Hour, we explore whistles and flutes through stories, poetry and music, with special guests Dr. Crawford McCallum, Enid Howarth, and flutist Ingrid Berg.

This time on The Children's Hour, we partner with our friends at Well Beings Studio to create a show that's about using poetry to heal, support and express yourself. Creating art with kids impacted by medical trauma, Well Beings Studio brings their students' work to The Children's Hour.

This week on The Children’s Hour, we’re joined by the Lady Gaga of children's music, Twinkle! She's an award winning, bilingual children’s musician, performer, voice actress and TV star. Twinkle is the host of Twinkle Time, with dozens of performances on YouTube for kids and families.

On this episode of The Childrens Hour we're joined by the legendary children's musician Laurie Berkner for a mini concert and conversation.

The Kids Crew learn about GoGo and Hip Hop musical genres with Uncle Devin Walker from WeeNation Radio, who also guest deejays our show. This is a lesson in musical education for all ages!
