Hey loves, welcome back to another episode of Chinannashow. In this episode, I cover the difference between Bipolar and Borderline personality disorder.
Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder characterized by alternating periods of mania and depression. Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is characterized by unstable emotions, relationships, and a sense of self. While both conditions can involve mood swings, they are distinct disorders with different symptoms and treatment approaches.

Welcome back to another episode of The Chinanna Show where I interviewed Steve Wilson the author of the book call Tethering. Below is a synopsis of the book
TEETERING, my bipolar journey, is the story of my lifelong battle for balance. For most of my 74 years, I have suffered from bipolar disorder. Descending into the depths of suicidal intentions or rising to the high of watching the births of my children, I have endured a roller coaster ride of epic proportions. My memoir takes the reader on a chronological journey of emotions recounting my rape when I was nine years old, my desire to take my own life, and my attempt to kill my father. It recounts my voyage through therapy and my successes and failures using prescribed psychological medications and highlights my recovery. For the last seven years, I have been the facilitator of two mental health support groups in Phoenix, Arizona. Through my own experiences and those of the numerous people I have worked with, I consider myself to be knowledgeable on real-life bipolar disorder. TEETERING is both a deeply personal memoir and a call to action, rallying the reader to dismantle the stigma surrounding mental illness and find the support they need to resurrect their lives. TEETERING has been released on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. If you have an interest in learning more about TEETERING Please visit [email protected].
In the past, men have been socialized to believe that seeking help is a sign of weakness. This has led to a culture where men are less likely to seek help for their mental health issues or personal problems. However, in recent years, there has been a growing movement to destigmatize seeking help among men.
One reason for this shift is the recognition that mental health issues affect everyone regardless of gender. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, men are less likely than women to seek help for mental health issues, despite the fact that they are just as likely to experience these issues. This is due in part to the societal expectation that men should be strong and self-reliant.
In this episode we cover ways in which we can start the process of destigmatization, talking points include:

Being diagnosed with bipolar disorder can be overwhelming. It's a mental health condition that affects a person's mood, energy, and ability to function in daily life. Bipolar disorder is characterized by manic and depressive episodes, which can be difficult to manage without proper treatment and self-regulation techniques.
Stick to a routine: Establishing a daily routine can help regulate your sleep patterns, eating habits, and overall mood. Try to wake up and go to bed at the same time every day, eat balanced meals, and make time for physical activity. example ( for me I ensure to go on walks every morning and if there is a morning I am unable to go I take a shower and ensure I have breakfast that normally helps me have less mental staring throughout the day.
Self-regulation is a continuous process, and it takes time and effort to develop effective strategies. Don't be discouraged if it takes some trial and error to find what works best for you. With patience and persistence, you can learn to manage your bipolar disorder and live a fulfilling life.
Remember, you are not alone in this. There are many resources available to help you manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life. Take care of yourself and reach out for help when you need it.

Today's episode covered discrimination against children who suffer from ADHD in Jamaican schools. The guest Sherene Mcbean is the mother of a child who is currently struggling in school due to injustice (rejection by the school) and wanted to speak her truth, which I obliged. Join us as she shares her story which ends on a happy note.
Episode takeaways
* More needs to be done to facilitate children who have learning challenges no matter the cause.
* All children have a right to education and more needs to be done to ensure that this law is enforced
