The four Servant Songs of Isaiah are both instructive and comforting as we wait for return of Christ.

Paul reminds us that we are children of light and therefore calls to live as such.

Jesus calls us away from self-interest to follow him in the love of our neighbors.

Paul calls us to put off the old man and put on the new man, created after the likeness of God.

Christ, the conquering King, has given gifts to the church that we might grow together.

Paul declared the truth of the unity of the body of Christ.

Paul moves from the indicatives to the imperatives of his letter. His first urging is that we would live a life that is in line with the gracious call of the gospel.

Paul comes back to his prayer for the Ephesians again. His prayer is the Christ might be formed in them. May that be our prayer for one another as well.

The inclusion of the Gentiles through Jesus Christ was a really big deal, proclaiming God’s wisdom throughout the cosmos.

The division between Jew and Gentile that the law established has been undone by Christ. We are no longer aliens and strangers.
