What do we do when confronted with the reality of the weariness of our souls, let alone the weariness of our bodies?

He did not pay for us so dearly only to leave us in our sorry state

John 5:24 (ESV): 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

He is the  Risen Lord and Reigning King, and that changes everything  

If Christ has been raised from the dead, the world is a different place 

Mary Magdalene's testimony as said by John the disciple 

John 12:23–26 (ESV): 23 And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. 24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. 25 Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. 26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

We have often swallowed the serpents life that to Glorify God is to give up all joy. God is not a cosmic Kill joy. The first of John's recordings Jesus going to a party. 

John Owen said, 'A due contemplation of the Glory of Christ will restore and compose the mind, it will lift the minds and heats of believers above all the troubles of this life, and is the sovereign antidote that will expel all the poison that is in them which otherwise will perplex and enslave our souls...by beholding the Glory of Christ by faith, we will find rest for our sorrows...this is the sovereign remedy for all our ills.'
