Ancient Earth is something we on the fringes of acceptable thought ponder regularly.  What we may not ponder so readily or regularly, however, is condition of our Earth in the ancient past. 

Practically every culture recognizes a flood story of some kind. So, it seems like we, as a human species, are quite familiar with this cataclysmic catastrophe. The question is then, what does that mean for the earth itself? Furthermore, what does that mean coming from a Biblical perspective. With verse like that of Isaiah talking about Sheol opening wider it’s mouth to receive all the workers of iniquity; and Genesis telling us that the fountains of the deep burst open to let the subterranean waters loose; what does it all mean?

That, my Dark Web Theologians, is what we plan to discuss today. So join us on this episode with David Paxton, as he breaks down concepts you may have theorized about, but to which you may have never given any true substance.

This week, The Christian Theological Dark Web Podcast confronts more issues about voting:

Voting is not just a civic duty but a deeply spiritual responsibility. As Christians, we are called to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13-16), influencing society in ways that reflect God’s truth, justice, and love. By voting, believers have the opportunity to stand up for biblical values in the public sphere—whether it’s defending the sanctity of life, advocating for justice for the oppressed, or protecting religious freedoms. Ignoring the political process means forfeiting a critical opportunity to bring kingdom principles into the laws and policies that shape our culture. However, the growing public distrust in government—shared by many Christians and average citizens—leads some to feel that voting is more of a "dog and pony show," where the system is rigged and their voices won’t truly make a difference.

We all have questions (yes, even  Ricky and Shelley) that we don’t know the answers to. We all have things about the Bible we don’t fully grasp. Sometimes those questions make us reevaluate our faith. Today, we deal with such topics. 

This episode was birthed out of questions from a Dark Web Theologian who we love and know well:  Alan.  His honesty and deep pondering drew us into a place of searching for ourselves, and trying to answer questions that plague him, and many of us, as well.  This is the first of two parts. We hope this episode serves you guys as it has us for more searching to understand!

What is Sleep Paralysis?

It is often described as "a condition that occurs when a person is aware of their surroundings but is unable to move or speak while falling asleep or waking up. It can be scary, but it's harmless and usually only happens once or twice in a person's life."

While this may be true for some, it is certainly not the case for Vicki Joy Anderson, and many others around the world. For some, like Vicki, it is a constant battle, and exhausting problem in which one finds neither rest in their sleep, nor in solace from family and friends.

Why, you might ask? Sleep paralysis being anything more than a passing occurrence, is usually viewed as something one either needs to get their head examined for, or receive an exorcism. So either science explains it away, or religious communities stigmatize or ostracize for it's happening.

But Vicki has strong reasons to believe that this phenomenon can, and in various occasions, is far more sinister than just that.

Our current bodies are not our eternal bodies. At least, this state is not their proper state…

See, so many of us have this misconception that we’re going to leave our bodies after this life and move onto a ghostly spirit phase.  But that is NOT what the Bible teaches. Not even a little bit.

We will receive new bodies. Brand new UPGRADED bodies when we enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with our Lord. The idea that “spirit” means “of nonphysical nature” is a very contemporary and common misunderstanding.  

So, Shelley and Ricky are here to set the record straight where it needs to be; and pontificate where there are Biblical questions!
