I am psyched and honored to have the amazingly talented, ever so sweet (( see what I did there) and by far one of the coolest people I have ever talked with, Amy Fleisher-Madden on the show this week!
Amy founded the independent record label, Fiddler Records, in Miami, Florida when she was 16 years old. In her mind, it was a logical progression from her local fanzine. Before she could even vote she discovered and broke bands like Dashboard Confessional, New Found Glory, and several other indie darlings you may or may not have heard of. She oversaw the creative direction and released over 25 records—which is what fueled her desire to properly learn Art Direction at the world-famous Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Upon completing her degree, Madden promptly moved to New York City to work as a Copywriter for an advertising agency. Having real-world experience with her own business helped her climb the ranks quickly, and she fast became a Creative Director working for what you could call ginormous brands.
And after nearly a decade of that hustle and bustle, Madden decided to try her hand as a freelance creative whilst writing a book. This worked out well, and her first novel A Million Miles was released in 2014 to rave reviews and has become a fan favorite in the music scene.
In 2022 Amy inked a deal with Chronicle Books to release NEGATIVES, a first-of-its-kind photographic archive of the emo music scene from 1996 to 2006, which will be released October, 24th!
I loved this conversation so much and I hope you do as well!

In this episode I am joined by a new and silly goose a friend named Jeremy Smith.
Jermey plays bass in Thousand Dollar Movie (among various other bands) and is part of a team that runs Four Finger Records and Gigantic Recording Company out of Charlotte, North Carolina!
I met Jeremy via Instagram and instantly became friends. He described himself as a human version of a golden retriever. Haha! After having coffee with Jeremy on one of his tours through L.A. I can confirm that to be true. Jeremy is a silly, talented and all around amazing soul. If you are into music (I mean duhhh...of course you are) and enjoy the ramblings of two goofy pals discussing bands, 90's nostalgia, etc. then this is the episode for you!

After a little hiatus I am back with a wonderful guest and friend - Sherri Dupree- Bemis of Eisley and Perma ( with husband Max Bemis of Say Anything)
We have so much fun talking! Our conversation ranges from her life as a mother & wife, her sobriety journey, the history and future of Eisley & Perma to debunking the long internet debate / myth that she and Paramore's Hayley Williams must be enemies. *nothing could be further from the truth* That time Eisley toured with Coldplay( !!!) and the paparazzi snapped a shot of Gwyneth Paltrow in an Eisley shirt and lots more!
Sherri had been a constant voice of hope and creativity in my world for years! It’s an honor to call her a podcast guest and friend 💖 She’s a gem!
