As a registered nurse by profession, one would think caring for a loved one in the home would be simple. One would think the expertise known by a nurse would provide all the needed insights to manage care in the home. While a nursing career provided guidance, Dr. Hickman found that 24/7 care in the home uncovered more than staying on top of activities of daily living. Being unprepared for the business side of the caregiving space created its own set of stressors. Dr. Hickman found that the business side of caregiving became a significant action item and that it is often left out of the discussion. Caregiving requires a holistic mindset to include physical, mental and emotional, and business. Dr. Hickman believes caregiving conversations should start yesterday.

Dr. Rugless serves in a dual role as the Director of Research at Church Health, and a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Memphis College of Health Sciences, which encapsulates her passions and areas of service in the healthcare, research, and academic arenas. In this role, Dr. Rugless oversees the Healthy Memphis Initiative and works as a liaison between various investigators, university faculty and students, along with community partners and organizations, with the goal of building a strong, nationally recognized, collaborative research program and network that enhances the community-based and clinical work being done locally within model organizations. She has been named in the Memphis Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40, a New Memphis Institute Leadership Fellow, and an American Heart Association Mid-South Woman of Impact. Fedoria is now transitioning into a new position as Population Health Director for Amerigroup, a member of Anthem, Inc., where she will be responsible for providing direction and oversight for efforts to improve the health and well-being of the Health Plan’s membership. Ultimately, she has a strong love for people, a desire to reduce healthcare disparities within underserved populations, and a burden for all to obtain holistic optimal health and wellness.

Short Bio: Ryan Lane, who began his professional music career as of member of the Harlem Boys Choir, is signed to Illtown Sluggaz label which is owned by Kaygee and Vin Rock of Naughty By Nature.  As part of the Harlem Boys Choir, Ryan Lane was able to develop his musical talent and had the opportunity to travel the world sharing the stage with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Michael Bolton and The Backstreet Boys. In 2007, Ryan Lane joined Project 718, an R&B quartet. Project 718 went on to sign their first record deal with Capitol Records. Five years later, Ryan Lane decided that it was time to take his career into his hands, and blaze his own trail as a solo artist. Over the past few years, Ryan has been building a solid fanbase, with many comparing his singing and songwriting ability to NeYo.  In 2020, to keep his creativity alive during the pandemic,  Ryan released his single FOREVER with a music video filmed in NYC.   Connecting his music to the social justice movement, he recently performed on the Black Lives Matter Mural in Harlem.
