The Christmas sound

Listen Later

The Christmas sound

From a dirty muddy green, to a brilliant red gold

Watched the leaves change as the temps got cold

Soon the air will relocate them to the ground

Naked trees reveal the many houses down my street

Before long strands of colored lights will make it complete

Close my eyes I can almost hear the Christmas sound

How fast we go from stretching summer out to donning

sweaters

Labor Day parties to composing annual holiday letters

Me I try to enjoy fall the short time it’s around

Thanksgiving’s are planned, shopping and parades

Party games to be played, card games and charades

Close my eyes I can almost hear the Christmas sound

Seems it’s one time of the year where it’s okay to be a kid

Share love with families and friends, take a pic make a vid

Despite everything wrong in the world be glad to be around

Time is faster than anything created to try to make it slow

And the opportunities to mend those wounds will surely go

So, close your eyes, and try your best to hear the Christmas

sound

And have yourself a merry little Christmas now…..
