The early churches were deeply involved with the political affairs...that until we learned how corrupted the Church became and thus, the Reformation during the 1500s became a blessing. However, the Enlightenment period called for the total separation between the Church and the secular world. Today, we're thinking whether should the Church be involved with the secular affairs and how can the Church play a role in the development of the local society.
