Throughout Luke 20, Jesus has been on defense as the High Priests, scribes, and Sadducees all take turns trying to question Him. Now, it's time for Jesus to go on offense. In Luke 20:41 - 21:4 Jesus will demonstrate the hypocrisy of the the religious leaders by attacking their poor theology, their pride, and their greed.

The attacks on Jesus continue with a question from the Sadducee's. This particular sect of Judaism rejected the resurrection of the dead. Therefore, they pose a question to Jesus regarding marriage that is meant to debunk the truth of the resurrection. In Jesus' response, He once again demonstrates His superiority. However, He also teaches an important lesson about the true meaning of marriage while demonstrating the reality of the resurrection.

Pastor Eddie uses Romans 15:13 to preach about how God is the God of hope. He also fills us with joy and peace with His Holy Spirit. Do not be a defeated Christian and learn to rely on this God of hope.

No one likes taxes. This is nothing profound and nothing new. We may enjoy the benefits of paying taxes, but no one really enjoys paying taxes. In Luke 20:19-26, the scribes and chief priests think they have come up with the ultimate question to stump Jesus...a question about paying taxes. However, as they soon learn, Jesus can't be stumped. Jesus is superior.
