At first glance, Jack Dorsey may not seem like a right wing fundamentalist. His promotion of intermittent fasting, his support of universal basic income and his banning of Donald J. Trump have even made the billionaire a hero in some liberal circles. But this liberal veneer has largely been marketed by Dorsey himself and he has done precious little to back up with any real action. Let us not forget that Donald Trump stayed on Twitter long after he had spread conspiracy theories and hate speech while Dorsey simultaneously purged several left leaning accounts. Calls for Trump to be banned from the platform began in 2017. What was Jack's response? Well, nothing. Instead Dorsey ignored the liberals screaming for Trump to be censored and instead proceeded to inform people of Twitter's "liberal bias". "We need to constantly show that we are not adding our own bias, which I fully admit is ... is more left-leaning," Dorsey says. Dorsey gave several interviews about his supposed "liberal bias" in publications like The Hill (famous for its exaggerations), The Washington Post, Fox News (famous for its bat shit craziness), and Mashable. In fact, Vox News ran an article in 2018 entitled "Twitter is So Liberal That Its Conservative Employees Don't Feel Safe Working There" to which at Jack responded, "I don't think that's fair or right." Hold on a second. If Jack has a liberal bias then why would he be ashamed of it? After all, he is one of the most successful businessmen to ever live. Owners of companies do not give a damn about the comfort level of their employees, especially not if they are exaggerating about "not feeling safe" because there are liberals around at a tech company in San Francisco, California, which just happens to be one of the most liberal cities in the world! Are you starting to smell the bullshit yet? I sure hope so because, boy, is it pungent! Why is Jack trying to protect conservatives feelings if he is so liberal? I'll tell you why. Because, as I have said before, there is no such thing as a "liberal" corporation. The pretense of liberalism in corporations is nothing more than an advanced marketing campaign to get young people on the platform. Once you have the hearts and minds of the youth, you can spread and sell whatever god awful nonsense you like as long as you shoot the occasional tweet out about free speech. But it turns out that Mr. Dorsey's version of free speech ain't so free after all. "An internal evaluation of Twitter’s recommendation algorithms concluded that they amplify right-leaning political content more than left-leaning content, company researchers announced Thursday, undercutting allegations by many conservatives who contend they are being censored on the platform." (The Washington Post). Liberal you say, hey? I think not. The article continues, “Our results reveal a remarkably consistent trend: In 6 out of 7 countries studied, the mainstream political right enjoys higher algorithmic amplification than the mainstream political left,” the researchers wrote in a 27-page report." Say it ain't so Jack. Or wait, never mind, don't lie again. You are not very good at it. "Twitter’s finding stands in contrast to allegations of censorship from conservatives who have accused Twitter, Facebook and other platforms of silencing their voices." Yeah, I'd say that's a bit of a contrast, wouldn't you? But don't tell Jack I said that. He might boot me off of Twitter again, along with your grandmother who wants lower prescription drug costs and your friend who just happened to take offense to the Chapelle special. Now bow down and pray to the almighty Dorsey that he might forgive you.
