In this week’s episode of The CineClub Podcast, we talk to Dr Mark McKenna, from the University of Staffordshire, about his connection to the 1978 film Big Wednesday, directed by John Milius. Mark has written a book about the film and gave us some insights about the film’s themes of friendship and loyalty, and a thought-provoking personal journey about his time writing the book.
Mark mentioned the loss of some of his close friends recently. If you’re affected by any of the issues mentioned and you’re a student at the University of Sunderland, please reach out to our Wellbeing service. You can get in touch with them via https://sj.sunderland.ac.uk/wellbeing/
