2 hr 6 min - Tropic Thunder 2008Welcome to the Cinema Sitdown! This week’s pick is from Jerry, and he decided on the 2008 meta-Hollywood-action movie, Tropic Thunder!Tropic Thunder tells the story of Tugg Speedman, a flailing action movie star finding himself on the wrong side of fame. To regain some of his audience pull after the disaster of his previous movie, Simple Jack, he teams up with some of the biggest stars of the time to create a 60’s war movie sure to bring in the big bucks as well as possible Oscar buzz. Joined by comedian Jeff Portnoy, rapper/pro-capitalist Alpa Chino, newcomer Kevin Sandusky and 5-time Oscar winner, Kirk Lazarus, this wild group of dudes attempt to tell one man’s story of barely making it out of Vietnam and all the lose he endured along the way. But like Speedman’s role in his critically acclaimed “Scorcher” series, trouble is just around the corner as egos, greed and general idiocy threaten to derail Tugg’s entire re-branding.Donate/Support SAG-AFTRA & WAG:https://entertainmentcommunity.org/https://sagaftra.foundation/emergencyfinancialassistance/https://www.wga.org/members/finances/good-welfare-emergency-assistance-loanshttps://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-support-sag-aftra-wga-strike-hollywood-actors-writers-donate-fund-2023-7Wanna Follow us (i know you want to)?IG: @the_Cinema_Sitdown_podcastTikTok: @theCinemaSitdownDaniel: (IG) - @londonbloke (TikTok) - @ldnblokeJerry: (IG) - @officialjerryjoseph87 (TikTok) - @jerryjoseph87Porsha: (YT, IG, FB) - @porshalauri (TikTok) - @porshalauri002 hr 24 min
- Romeo and Juliet (1996)
Welcome to the Cinema Sitdown!
Grab a Drink and come hang out with us while we Discuss the Romantic story of ROMEO AND JULIET
The classic story of Romeo and Juliet, set in a modern-day city of Verona Beach. The Montagues and Capulets are two feuding families, whose children meet and fall in love. They have to hide their love from the world because they know that their parents will not allow them to be together. There are obstacles on the way, like Juliet's cousin, Tybalt, and Romeo's friend Mercutio, and many fights. But although it is set in modern times, it is still the same timeless story of the "star crossed lovers".IG: https://www.instagram.com/porshalauri
