Ps. Andre wrapped up our sermon series on Spiritual Practices speaking on how Love is The End Goal. He reminded us about the significance of love - and in contrast - what our love towards God and men should look like. After the message, our pastors then took questions related to the series. Let’s reflect on the different practices that have been taught over the last 10 weeks, and cultivate discipline to practice them in our spiritual formation.

Ps. Andre shared on the spiritual practice of Discernment. When we desire to hear God’s voice, we will want to hear it in the face of big decisions just as much as when life is uneventful. Because it’s not about getting it right, it’s about being found in His love. May we grow in trusting the will of the Father and exercise prayerful discernment through the course of our lives.

Ps. Andre spoke on the practice of Secrecy in Week 8 of our sermon series on Spiritual Practices. In a cultural climate of approval addiction and the drug of applause and admiration, Jesus proposes a radical alternative - living for the audience of One. May we as a people cultivate a life of secrecy with the Lord, casting aside the temporal earth-bound rewards, in favour of the Father’s eternal joy & delight.

We celebrated our 10th Anniversary!

As we celebrated this milestone - 10th anniversary, Pst Andre shared on our calling as a Creative Minority - to be in the world but not of it, to be a beacon of light in our City for generations to come. H encouraged us to continue to carry in our hearts the desire to see the Kingdom of God revealed through our lives and our community.

Here’s to many more glorious years to come, from glory to glory, strength to strength, and from Generation to Generation.

In Week 7 of our series on Spiritual Practices, Ps Matthew dives into the topic of Scripture and how integral it is to know God through knowing His Word. Let us practice continually feeding on God’s word as we learn to love Him more.

Ps. Andre shared a powerful message about prayer in the sixth installment of the Spiritual Practices sermon series. He shared about the power and potential of cultivating a life of prayer, and invited a panel up on stage to share about the practicalities of what a prayerful life looks like. Let us have the discipline to keep God before our minds, and to constantly cultivate the habit of directing our attention back to Him.

Ps Janice continued our sermon series on Spiritual Practices with a message on solitude - the practice of being absent to people and things in order to be present with God. She encouraged us to cultivate the practice in our daily lives, and in doing so, discover God in a place of provision where we can be shaped as His people to be a prophetic voice in our culture. Be so blessed as you enter the new week and we hope that you will find fulfilment in seeking after God’s heart.

“God built a rhythm into the fabric of creation, one of work and rest.” - Pastor Andre Tan

Ps. Andre Tan spoke on the practice of Sabbath in his sermon series on Spiritual Practices this morning. He reminded us about the commandment of having intentional rest directed to God. He shared that in a culture of exhaustion and busyness, Jesus comes to offer us rest for our souls. May we be a people of rest, adopting His yoke and rhythm and practicing the spiritual discipline of rest.

“Fasting - it’s not a willpower exercise, it’s a divine exchange. In fasting, we starve the flesh and feast on the spirit.” - Pastor Andre Tan

Ps. Andre shared on the practice of Fasting in the next installation of his sermon series on Spiritual Practices. There is an undeniable relationship between fasting and freedom. Through fasting, we adopt a willing abstinence from food, restrain from gluttony and a hunger for God. Let us practice the habit of fasting, and partake in the divine exchange of starving the flesh and feasting of the spirit.

Week 2 of our sermon series titled “Spiritual Practices”. Ps. Andre spoke about the importance of Wise Training. To become who we are to be, may we remember that it isn’t a matter of working harder, but focusing on training ourselves wisely in living out these spiritual disciplines as we work towards becoming like Jesus in our lives.
