  • Paper Straws Suck: SCIENCE! — The Climate Realism Show #223

It turns out the green scolds’ war on plastic straws really sucked. A new study from South Korea’s Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment found that plastic straws have a smaller environmental footprint than plastic straws, and paper straws produce more than six times the carcinogens. Oops!

On Episode #223 of The Climate Realism Show, we will cover that bit of Crazy Climate News of the Week, and more. Just in time for Halloween a scary new map by something called The Climate Impact Lab claims more than 373,000 additional people will die between now and March because of this year’s Super El Niño. We will also talk about the climate and energy angle to the cult-like opposition to the building of AI data centers. And we will preview next month’s COP31 in Antalya, Türkiye where some 100,000 politicians, bureaucrats and activists will work out how to pry trillions more out of the few wealthy nations still willing to pay to the United Nations’ host of grifters.

Join The Heartland Institute’s Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, Jim Lakely and CFACT president Craig Rucker for another weekly 90-minute dose of fun and spirited discussion on Friday, October 30 at 1 p.m. ET on YouTube, Rumble, X, and Facebook. • California’s Bullet Train: Speeding Into Absurdity — The Climate Realism Show #222

Environmentalists in California pushed for, and got approved, a ballot initiative in 2008 to build a bullet train from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Instead of flying, which is a sin against the climate, Golden State residents could settle into their seats, look out the window, and feel good about themselves for being “green” as they were whisked to their destination. It’s now almost 20 years on and not a single track has been laid despite $15 billion being spent. And what’s the biggest holdup? Some of the most-absurd environmental roadblocks you can imagine.

On Episode #222 of The Climate Realism Show, we will examine what might be the world’s greatest climate grift, the California train that even Gov. Gavin Newsom said may never be built in our lifetimes, as well as other Crazy Climate News of the Week. Now that the U.S. is getting out of the global climate grift, how much will temperatures rise? We will report on a positive “butterfly effect” not reported by once-panicked corporate media. And now that even the Labour Party has opened up the North Sea to natural gas drilling again, they say it won’t do a thing to reduce energy costs. Is that true?

Join The Heartland Institute’s Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, Jim Lakely and guest Lois Perry for another weekly, 90-minute dose of fun and spirited discussion about the climate on Friday, October 23 at 1 p.m. ET on YouTube, Rumble, X, and Facebook. • Crappy Feet: Penguins Cause, And Maybe Stop, Climate Change — The Climate Realism Show #221

Remember when cows were destroying the planet with their burps? Now penguins are melting Antarctica with their poop. But wait! Other scientists say penguin poop might actually help stop climate change. So which is it? Should there be a federal program to fit penguins with diapers to save the planet?

On Episode #221 of The Climate Realism Show, we will waddle into that latest bizarre climate headline and other Crazy Climate News of the Week. The New York Times is blaming climate change for the “gentrification of seafood,” whatever that means. The Washington Post is sounding the planetary alarm yet again, warning that Earth’s “vital signs” are deteriorating and climate tipping points could be around the corner. We will debunk that, and more.

  • Suncor v. Boulder: Biggest Climate Case Ever — The Climate Realism Show #220

The Supreme Court on Monday heard arguments in the most-important climate case in many years, perhaps ever. Suncor v. Boulder may decide whether climate activists can sue modern society out of existence, or whether common sense, the proper application of the Constitution, and science will prevail. The questions asked by the justices on Monday don’t look great for the alarmist side, but you never know.

On Episode #220 of The Climate Realism Show we will break down this monumental case with Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, who was at the Supreme Court to hear the arguments, and Steve Milloy, senior policy fellow at the Energy and Environment Legal Institute.

We will also cover some of the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including the climate panic movie “Digger” shoveling Warner Bros.' money into a furnace, Virginia’s insane and environmentally destructive solar power plan, and debunking a so-called record wildfire season in the U.K.

  • Covering NYC Climate Week — The Climate Realism Show #218

It’s Climate Week again in New York City. Hollywood celebrities, titans of global industries, high-ranking government officials from around the world, climate justice advocates, and other assorted weirdos are once again raising their voice in unison to make us destroy our economies and do what they say. We will have a look at the goings on and determine if these are the wails of a dying movement, or if they are changing their messaging without letting go of their quest for power.

On Episode 218 of The Climate Realism Show the Heartland Institute’s Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely will discuss Climate Week with Tom Harris, executive director of the International Climate Science Coalition in Canada. We will also discuss some of the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including whether climate lawsuit money is drying up, how climate zealots are coming for your shower time, and an update on the disaster of electric buses.

  • Massive Victory: EPA Power Grab Ends — The Climate Realism Show #217

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin on Monday announced the repeal of an Obama/Biden rule that regulated emissions of greenhouse gases from power plants with the intent to shutter all coal and most natural gas power plants in America. This was a long-time coming and the usual climate doomers are upset. This is huge news, but what does the repeal of the rule really mean for the environment and your wallet.

On Episode 216 of The Climate Realism Show the Heartland Institute’s Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely will discuss this news with Steve Milloy, who was on the transition team for EPA in President Trump’s first term. We will also be joined again by Heartland UK/Europe Director Lois Perry to discuss the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including climate change putting African rain summoning sorcerers at risk of being murdered.

  • What The Heck Is Dairy Net Zero? - TCRS #216

Net Zero, overall, might be dying in Europe. It’s being rejected by voters in seemingly every election in recent years, and even Democrats here in America don’t talk about it anymore when it used to be a pillar of their platform. So why is something called “Dairy Net Zero,” a green zombie from the Biden administration, still alive in the United States? We will discuss what that is, and why it has to go.

On Episode 216 of The Climate Realism Show the Heartland Institute’s Sterling Burnett, Anthony Watts, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely are back LIVE with special guest Samantha Fillmore to cover that story and some other Crazy Climate News of the Week. An Obama economic advisor finally admits what we all knew: green energy mandates make energy more expensive. College football schedules should be adjusted because of climate change? And cleaner air is a good thing … except it causes more global warming.

  • Nepal Disaster - The Climate Realism Show #214

The scenes coming out of Nepal of the glacier collapse and flash flood of mud, ice, and water are horrifying. The amount of devastation is almost hard to fathom, and the landscape is changed forever. Mainstream media outlets are blaming the disaster on climate change, and pointing to human activity warming the globe as the top cause. We will expose the truth.

On Episode 214 of The Climate Realism Show the Heartland Institute’s Sterling Burnett, Jim Lakely, and special guests Craig Rucker of CFACT and Marlo Lewis will also cover some other Crazy Climate News of the Week. Psychology Today says global warming causes child abuse. The White House is ditching climate doom. And are even the green weenies of Europe giving up climate as a political issue?

  • The Climate Regulations Driving Up Costs Across America - #212

California may be only one state, but are its climate regulations effectively becoming national policy?

In Episode #212 of The Climate Realism Show, host Andy Singer is joined by Linnea Lueken, Anthony Watts, and H. Sterling Burnett to break down how California’s climate and environmental regulations can affect consumers, businesses, and supply chains far beyond the state’s borders.

The main story examines California rules targeting ships docked at the state’s massive ports, along with vehicle and equipment regulations that critics argue function as a “hidden climate tax” on Americans nationwide. With California ports handling a huge share of U.S. imports and the state’s enormous market influencing what manufacturers produce, how much power should one state have to shape the national economy?

The panel also digs into several other major climate and energy stories:

🍔 Drive-Thru Climate Ban: Culver City is considering restrictions on new drive-through restaurants, with greenhouse-gas emissions, vehicle idling, air quality, and pedestrian-oriented development among the reasons cited. Is blocking new drive-throughs meaningful climate policy, or regulatory overreach?

⚖️ Climate Chapter Pulled: The National Academies of Sciences temporarily removed a climate-science chapter from the Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence while reviewing concerns about how the chapter was developed and potential conflicts involving people connected to climate litigation.

🔥 Solar Fire Surge: UK fire-service data show incidents involving solar-panel systems increased sharply between 2022 and 2025, significantly faster than the growth in installations. Are subsidies and aggressive deployment targets outpacing installation quality, inspections, and fire-safety standards?

🚢 California’s National Reach: From cargo ships and port infrastructure to cars, engines, and equipment, the panel examines whether California is simply exercising authority granted under federal law or using its economic power to impose de facto national regulations without a national vote.
