Song
The Clouds So High
Hail in the mountain clouds so high Two travelers lost in the foggy sky The path they walked has disappeared Their strength is fading, filled with fear No escape, no way to turn The hail is whipping, the wind does churn Cold seeps deep into their bones Numbness spreads, their bodies moan
Despair gnaws deep within their hearts Hope dwindles, fading, falling apart On this icy day, so cold and grim A shepherd calls from the mountain's rim His gaze fixed on the valley below To a farmhand, he instructs just so: "Boy, go up to the mountain's height Two wanderers are lost in the fading light"
"Find them before the night descends Before the ice and snow transcend Bring them bread and cheese to eat So they won't suffer in the freezing sleet" The boy ascends with courage bold He finds them, poor souls, weak and cold Shivering, injured, beneath a slope He shares his food, his warmth, his hope
"Don't lose your heart, dear sirs," he cries "I'll lead you back down, beneath clear skies" Together they descend, the boy leading the way Step by step, through the winding way The hail subsides, the sun shines bright Breaking through the clouds, a welcome sight
In the village, people wait and pray With fear and worry, they stand at bay But when they see the three appear Joy erupts, casting out all fear Relief, praise, gratitude abound Their hearts beat with a joyful sound The two companions, safe and sound The boy's brave deed, with praise is crowned
Through the mountain clouds, a song rings clear A reminder of humanity, held so dear In times of hardship, darkness, and strife Kindness and courage will give us life.
