The Clubhouse Concert Series, created and hosted by (at the time) Joni Beard, holds a place in the pantheon of Texas music.

Starting in the "clubhouse" of her then-apartment complex and eventually making its way to venues such as The Horseman Club, The White Elephant Saloon, and Jack's Off the Wall, Joni's series served as an incubator of sorts for some of the biggest names in our music scene.

Clubhouse veterans include Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Stoney LaRue, Mike McClure, Cody Jinks, Maren Morris, Walt Wilkins, Brandon Rhyder, Drew Kennedy, Susan Gibson, Max Stalling, Owen Temple, Johnny Cooper, and about a hundred or so others. The list could go on and on...

It's been 16 years since the final Clubhouse show took place, and we wanted to have Joni on to tell the history of this venerable series that helped shape the intimate listening-room show for a generation of artists and fans alike.

A special thanks to Randy Rogers, Walt Wilkins, Max Stalling, Drew Kennedy, Brandon Rhyder, and Susan Gibson for sending in audio notes about what the Clubhouse Concert Series meant to their careers.

We lost an icon a couple of weeks ago in Dolly Parton. Her passing coincided with our 10th anniversary live podcast. We didn't want to limit our rememberance of Dolly to a short segment there, so we saved it for a whole episode as she deserves.

Dolly was iconic in everything she did. Be it songwriting, recording, acting, philanthropist, etc. ... she raised to bar on what it means to be a human.

Long live Dolly.

Most poeple don't know this because we have yet to mention it, but your humble little Co-Write Podcast That Could turned ten years old in May. We have been tossing around some ideas on how to celebrate this milestone birthday with all of you, and one of those ideas was to dig around in the vault for some of our favorite interviews and re-releasing them in a Best Of series.

Our first Best Of episode is our very first sit down with the great Walt Wilkins. I really enjoyed listening back to this great conersation about Walt's childhood, his Nashville career and his move back to Texas.
