Wow! Life throws curves at us, yes? This episode marks the return to the airwaves after 2 major events that happened 6 weeks ago: most importantly, I became a grandfather!  The thrill and joy of my grandson's arrival was tempered, however, by a terrible fall I took 4 days later that led to shoulder reconstruction surgery and lots of weeks being laid up. 
The songs in this show reflect both the ecstasy and the pain of these 2 big events. 
Plus, we've added a "headset" 3 song memorial tribute to the great  Jesse Colin Young upon the news of hs passing.

Gosh, the LA fires {Altadena and Malibu} have really impacted folks in So Cal, and I guess this edition of the CHS reflects that a bit. Songs by Death Cab for Cutie, Karl Denson, Mama's Gun and David Gilmour and others all reflect the sense of impact and helplessness. My thoughts are with you all.

In honor of the amazing Burton Cummings and his great performance at The Coachhouse in San Juan Capistrano this week, we are including a special 'headset' of 3 of his songs in this week's playlist. 
'No Time', 'No Sugar Tonight', and 'American Woman' were all played live at the show and remind us what a great artist Mr. Cummings remains!

This first episode of CHS in 2025 includes an important interview with Laguna Beach Fire Chief Niko King {at the 11mn. 45 sec mark}.

Chief King has joined us on air for important fire safety updates as Laguna Beach watches both the Palisades and Altadena fires burning up in LA County and works to ensure our own fire readiness. 

Following this interview, the rest if the show features 13 songs with "Wind" in their title, given the proornounced effect of heavy winds tonight in Laguna.

Alright, I get it....Me returning from a vacation in Italy is hardly the source for a 'theme' on the Coast Highway Shuffle Show.
