Plasma has a long history of saving the lives of service members, dating back to World War II to treat critical injuries. Today, plasma is playing a huge role in combating COVID-19. Long time supporter of the USO and global health care leader, Grifols, stops by to talk about how they are leading the way to developing plasma-driven medicine by harnessing and concentrating antibodies from recovered COVID-19 patients. 

Since March 2020, all 11 USO Hampton Roads and Central Virginia comfort centers were temporarily closed to ensure the safety of our staff, service members, and volunteers as we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic. As of late July, our USO Norfolk International Airport Center or "ORF" center received the green light to serve military members passing through for travel. On this episode, we meet Carlos Rodriguez, a retired disabled combat Marine and a Desert Storm veteran who is a proud member of our Outdoor Adventure Team (OAT). Carlos joins Joey Noonan and Vicky West of OAT to chat about how OAT and individualized adapted fitness aided in his recovery after enduring many physical and mental wounds upon medical retirement. Some of his accomplishments include cycling 18,000 miles! We also give an update on how to get involved with Warrior Week through gaming.
