This show is a passion project of Christine McDannell, the Co-founder of Kndrd, the first management software platform and global directory for Coliving. She is also the Founder of Kindred Quarters in California and published the first book on Coliving in 2018: The Coliving Code.

One of the biggest problems plaguing modern society is real estate and social challenges. People are signing away their paychecks on rent and feeling increasingly isolated. Christine is on a personal mission to solve these problems through the CoLiving movement by helping redefine the term ‘housemate’ with something meaningful, sustainable, and flexible on a global level.

People now are choosing access over ownership and new real estate projects need to be built specifically for the way humans are now deciding to live together.

Esteve has been in real estate and small businesses since an early age, through growing Barcelona Homes and by working for a handful of awesome organizations.

He is passionate about developing new buildings and designing products and brands that create amazing experiences. His background includes developing and operating real estate and building processes that help organizations thrive.

Esteve grew up in Barcelona, Spain and went to school and lived in New York City. He graduated from New York University with a degree in Finance and Real Estate and spent most of his adult life in the States where he worked for a handful of organizations, most notably Airbnb in SF and VTS in NYC.

After school, he joined Starcity, a San Francisco based co-living startup while he focused on real estate acquisitions, growth initiatives and business strategy.

Prior to Quarters, Mr. Barros served as president and managing director, North America franchise operations, for Wyndham Hotel Group where he was responsible for field and brand operations functions, overseeing operational performance, ongoing franchisee support efforts, preferred client services and franchise advisory boards for the group’s 15 brands in North America representing 6,132 properties.

A seasoned hospitality industry veteran with 29 years of experience, Barros has held a number of high-level operations positions with Wyndham Hotel Group. Prior to leading the North American business, he was based in London where he served as president and managing director, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean, responsible for Wyndham Hotel Group’s development, operations and cross-functional brand initiatives throughout the region.

Previously, Barros was brand senior vice president for the company’s Howard Johnson®, Travelodge® and Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham® hotel brands. As the head of each brand, he was tasked with managing strategic direction and overseeing day to day operations for a portfolio of approximately 1,200 hotels.

Barros is a graduate of the Southeastern Academy of Travel and Tourism in Kissimmee, Fla. He was honored with a Rising Star Award in 2001 by Travel Agent magazine, recognizing him as one of the travel industry’s top 100 leaders. He has also been recognized by Hotel & Motel Management magazine, now Hotel Management, which named him an emerging hospitality leader in 2005.

In 2006, Lodging Magazine presented him with a Chain Leadership Award for Franchisee/Owner Relations and in 2009 the magazine recognized him as a leader and visionary in brand management.

Rui Barros joined WeWork in April 2016 as SVP of Global Operations, utilizing his nearly three decades of hospitality experience to serve as a center of excellence and introduce best practices for WeWork's space, community and services globally. In his current role as Head of Tri-State, Barros oversees all aspects of the company's fast-growing business for WeWork's largest market - including management, sales, operations, marketing, and more for WeWork's 40 buildings and tens of thousands of members across New York City.

Stonington Cox “Stoney” likes to say that he discovered Coliving by accident. He bought his first condo while still in college and while he loved investing in and improving it, he discovered that living solo sucks, and that life is better lived together with others. So he set an intention to combine his love of investing with his love of people to help create better collaborative housing concepts than those that had come before.

The career idea was to learn the investment business working at top tier firms in brokerage, investment banking, merchant banking and private equity at GMAC, Macquarie Capital, Accord Group, and Cadre all the while continuing to explore and refine a thesis around which collaborative living models seemed to work the best. This inquiry led him down paths first in Cohousing (development of for sale condos for pre-formed communities) on the property side and then toward angel investing in pioneering Coliving companies like OpenDoor, Outsite, and Ollie.

He is a Board Member for OpenDoor, one of the pioneering Coliving operators based in Oakland and a Senior Advisor to Six Peak Capital, a Coliving focused private equity real estate firm based in New York City. Not that it matters much, but he has degrees from Georgetown, Columbia Business School, and Insead.

Currently Stoney spends most of his time as CEO and Founder of Nomos Group Holdings, an advisory and investment firm focused specifically on the Coliving sector with the broad business objective to “Connect Capital to Coliving”

Sarah Dusseault is Chair of the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) Commission.

Appointed by Supervisor Solis, she served as Co-Chair of LAHSA’s Ad Hoc Committee on Women & Homelessness. Sarah is committed to including women’s unique experiences in policy-making and investing in systems change to bring a crisis response to homelessness.

Sarah began her career in public service with Mayor Jim Hahn, as his campaign Policy Director. She served in senior roles in the Office of the Mayor as Deputy Mayor for Housing and Homelessness where she led efforts to revitalize Downtown Los Angeles and oversaw the creation of L.A.’s affordable housing trust fund.

Sarah served as Senior Policy Advisor to Mayor Eric Garcetti during his 2013 mayoral campaign, and during his tenure as President of the City Council.

Throughout her career, Sarah has gained a reputation as a passionate advocate, policy expert, and an innovative problem solver.

Sarah serves in various leadership roles in her community, including as a mentor to many young women and girls, an Advisory Board Member for the Los Angeles Business Council and Board member of the Los Angeles LGBT Center assisting in their work to open an intergenerational campus addressing the needs of people experiencing homelessness.
