Hindsight is 20/20, my friends. So The College Football Podcast's look back over the 2014 season, with an eye toward how it informs the upcoming campaign, is naturally flawless. First up, the SEC West.

Don't call it a comeback! We have, indeed, been here for years.

After a brief postseason hiatus, wherein Canada ventured Down Under and Luke watched a bunch of Oscar contenders (what an adventurer, eh?), the boys return to discuss the biggest topics of the last fortnight or two: National Signing Day, Vernon Adams, and the folly of Andrus Peat participating in skills competitions. It'll be great.

College football arrived out of nowhere, like a wet hound coming in from the rain. (Or, y'know, whatever imagery you prefer.) And now, just like that, another season is gone, but not forgotten. So it goes.

Today the boys bookend the season, recapping the first-ever College Football Playoff national championship game, an affair somewhat anticlimactic in its one-sidedness. Further, they look back over the highs and lows of the format, and discuss how this season will affect the committee's decisions going forward.

Add to that a bit of news and notes, and some Collin Klein chatter, and you've got quite the show.

And in the most bittersweet news of the year, the national championship is Monday, which of course means Tuesday begins the longest 7+ months of your life. But first, it's time to pick sides: Oregon vs Ohio State; Urban vs Helfrich; Canada vs Luke. Who ya got?

The first-ever first round of the College Football Playoff is in the books. Let's go ahead and call it a wild success. (Unless you're Florida State, naturally.) The rest of the New Year's Six bowls weren't exactly chopped liver, either.

Your patience is paying off: bowl season is upon us!

Louisiana Lafayette and Nevada get things underway Saturday morning in the New Orleans Bowl and it only gets better from there, as Utah State meets UTEP, Utah dances with Colorado State, Western Michigan takes on Air Force, and South Alabama undertakes the Bowling Green quagmire. And that's just Saturday!

The boys preview all those, plus five more pre-Christmas games, and offer up their takes on the best and worst match-ups of the first-week slate. And they rave about Popeyes.

The 2014 college football regular season is officially in the books, unless you're Army or Navy. Yes, it's unspeakably sad, but worry not: Bowl season is coming. . . .
