How does someone settle down in Medellin? What are the legal requirements to stay in Colombia for longer than a tourist visa allows? We needed an expert to solve this case, so we invited James Lindzey, an X-private investigator from Florida. James (aka Tad) moved to Colombia in 2005 and started a visa business that has since helped over 1000 lucky gringos stay in our beloved Medellin. He even helped Joel get his first visa back in 2012.

James’s company focuses primarily on commercial law, immigration, and family law. He takes us through the most common visa types including retirement, student, business owner, investment, and the ever-popular marriage visa. Not to mention he shares quite a few funny stories from his 14 years in the city.

For anyone looking to stay in Medellin for more time than a tourist visa allows, this is a must-see episode.
