This week Mike Iamele recounts his coming out story that all started from an unexpected health issue. Mike recounts how he first met his now-husband Garret and the journey of being surprised by love. He also recounts the first public coming out 8 years ago through a viral blog post and a book, and the ramifications, he now shares what he learnt from the experience and the moments he took from it. To finish it all off Mike shares his amazing proposal story where everything seemed to go wrong but ended up right.

This week Dr. Angela Lauria talks about coming out as BI.  She shares about being straight passing and how she worked really hard to be a good ally, all the while pushing her own sexuality down to keep others comfortable. She talks about the pressures of having a family who pushed her to be “normal” at the expense of her true self. Angela tells how she finally came to a breaking point and decided that enough was enough, and officially come out. Hannah recounts the story of her coming out in a small conservative town where she was heavily involved in the church and what gave her the strength to come out. Hannah talks about her relationship with her father and how the relationship has changed and grown since she came out, including the fine line between acceptance and disagreement. This week's guest is Katya Veleva who talks about her experience growing up in Eastern Europe and how different that was from her current reality. Much changed when Katya moved to London England where she felt free to explore her true self and break all kinds of rules, including in the dating world. She found enormous acceptance while playing Quidditch helped her grow in acceptance and ultimately come out about her sexuality. Katya’s visits back home are a stark contrast to her current reality, but she seeks to maintain relationships even when they’re hard. Katya shares a really tender next chapter of her coming out story which she is stepping into bravely.

Stacey Chomiak takes us through her story of growing up closeted in the Evangelical church. Living in a not-so-supportive environment and the struggles of not having someone to talk to, Stacey talks about how exactly that changed and why. Today Stacey is creating books that help others not feel alone in that storyline.  Her soon-to-be-released young adult visual novel is going to offer hope and inspiration to many that currently feel alone and like outcasts in their families and churches.

Film Director-Rocky tells us about their movie “1946” which is based on a mistranslation of the word Homosexual in the Bible that only started appearing after the year 1946. That change in interpretation has caused hurt for many people for decades. In the podcast, Rocky takes us through their story of coming out and how they walked away from “it all” in terms of their religious upbringing, but how they just can’t seem to walk away from the truth behind this event of mistranslating the Bible back in 1946. Rocky tells us a little bit of what we will be able to see in the movie and the behind-the-scenes thoughts for the story. Showing empirical evidence and historical research a very thoughtful case is offered for combatting the hurt that the word Homosexual has caused in the Bible.

Vicki talks about her passion for getting rid of manufactured scarcity in our lives and believing we have the efficacy to live what we are called to. She talks about the need for community and interconnection within business and has pioneered a radical generosity with SheEO’s regular practice of asking and giving support to each other. Vicki takes us through her journey of breaking out from the mentality that kept her from achieving what she wanted and shares her advice for others who feel the same.

Nancy shares vulnerably about her recent growth and internal shift.
