Verse 14, "Many are invited, but few are chosen." summarizes this parable in Matthew 22, which deals with the way we respond to an invitation from Jesus.

The parable was one of the most powerful and effective teaching tools employed by Jesus during his ministry. Many of his profound and seemingly complicated messages found comprehension among the most unsophisticated listeners when Jesus addressed them with parables. 

The Good News is that the Bible isn't the work of a single voice or author, but a diverse, Spirit-breathed library of wisdom. Its very humanity is what makes it believable and trustworthy—because through all its voices, it points to one hope: Jesus.
