GUEST DETAILS

With more than 30-years-experience in broadcasting, Todd Duplantis has spent most of his life in front of a TV camera and behind a microphone.  

After spending a decade as a television reporter, Todd transitioned to the public relations and communications arena, bringing a news savvy attitude to companies like Gulf States Toyota and Houston Community College. In 2012 Todd was hired as the director of public relations for HCC Southwest College. 

In June of 2015, he returned to broadcasting and television production as he was named director of HCCTV. During his time at HCCTV, Todd launched a hybrid podcast/TV studio, manages the social media team, anchors a live daily newscast and hosts several talk and entertainment shows including The Topic and The Story Behind the Story and HCC- 50 Years and Counting.  

In August of 2016, in addition to his duties at HCCTV, Todd was appointed interim public information officer and spokesperson for Houston Community College.

Megan Hoose is the Integrated Marketing Communications Coordinator for Student Recruitment at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

She leads the strategic planning between HACC’s integrated marketing communications firm and the College for student recruitment campaigns. She also develops, executes and assesses the year-long integrated marketing communications plan for student recruitment. She’s served as an integral part in increasing the number of applications for admissions, building awareness of the College’s programs and leading first-time social media campaigns. Hoose has more than 15 years of marketing, advertising and public relations experience in the nonprofit, education and agency settings. She earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from Kutztown University.

Andrew Morong is the Director of Admissions at Central Maine Community College.

Andrew has been in this role for over four years, and began coordinating the esports program in 2018. 

Morong is a 2004 graduate of Morse High School. After high school Morong attended St. John's University in New York City where he studied Sports Management before transferring back home to the University of Maine.  Morong started coaching career at Morse High School as a varsity assistant coach during the 2005-2006 school year, and was named the Associate Head Coach for the 2007-08 season. Morong spent three years as a girls varsity assistant at Morse before being named the Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Poland Regional High School where he held that title from 2008-2011.

In 2008 Coach Morong graduated from the University of Maine with a B.A. in Psychology and a Minor in Business.  In August of 2013, Morong earned his Masters Degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University.  He and his wife, Ambyr, live in Lewiston with their son, Camden.

Mariah Hughes is the Marketing Coordinator at Eastern Maine Community College.

Mariah is using “old school digital,” to coin a new term, to improve outreach at EMCC. So many colleges have forgotten about the value of email, but not Mariah. Listen and learn how she created a newsletter, and how it is being used to improve recruitment and retention.

Mariah Hughes was born and raised outside of Boston, Massachusetts, and went to the University of Maine from 2013-2017, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a Marketing focus. She went on to work as the Communication Specialist and Marketing Coordinator for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the School of Performing Arts at UMaine. From this position she went on to becoming the Marketing Coordinator at Eastern Maine Community College, where she is currently.
