  • Compassionate Capitalist - Economic Theory that Predicts Collapse of Markets
One thing that has been proven again and again through history, is that the financial markets will go up and down.  They will ebb and flow, almost like a life form, like water seeking to flow and find the fissures and pathways to pool together, aggregate and rise.   Karen Rands, as the Compassionate Capitalist Evangelist, and an Economist by training, has a lively discussion with Dr. Mark Thornton of the Mises Institute.  The Mises Institute, part of the Auburn University system, is an economic policy think tank built upon the Austrian Business Cycle Theory that promotes free and capitalist markets.   Dr. Thornton is a leading economist that investigates history, economic matters, financial markets, and key indicators that correlate with market corrections and collapses.   He has written a number of books regarding free markets and the economy.  The Skyscraper Curse: And How Austrian Economists Predicted Every Major Economic Crisis of the Last Century, was profound in its 2009 Recession predictions. Get your free copy.
Karen and Mark explore this theory, market corrections in history not correllated with massive skyscrapers and other potential influences.   They wrap up their conversation with an exploration of a 2020 prediction of a market collapse and the opening of the 1 Kilometer high skyscraper in Saudi Arabia in 2020.  Karen asks about 3 current influences:  Volatility of ICOs, the economic growth of small business as a result of 2012 JOBS Act only now beginning to show impact, and the movement of money out of the stock market to fund the new Opportunity Zone Funds, the infrastructure investment it promises, along with drop in Treasury Revenues.  Tune in to hear the recommendations.

  • Compassionate Capitalism Isn't the same as Conscious Capitalism, here's why.
Started about the same time, Conscious Capitalism is more known than Compassionate Capitalism.  The underlying principals behind both are quite similar and have been part of the underlying American culture for decades, if not since the birth of our nation.  Karen Rands , host of the Compassionate Capitalist Podcast and Founder and Chief Evangelist of the Compassionate Capitalist Movement, explains the difference between Conscious Capitalism (CEOs and the Corporations they run being good corporate and community citizens) and Compassionate Capitalism (Investors making money by helping entrepreneur launch and grow their businesses by providing a portion of the financing they need to succeed).  Karen looks into the foundation and history of each, and explains the benefits of each for a community and the economy at large.

  • Compassionate Capitalist - How Crowd Funding works with Angel Investing
Karen Rands is leading the Compassionate Capitalist Movement with her deep knowledge and experience about the ecosystem for the best practices for both investors and entrepreneurs to achieve their desired return on investment of time and money.
The ability to raise money from a Crowd of strangers and fans for an entrepreneur startup venture has been around since 2000.  It wasn't until 2012 that the US Government (JOBS Act) started to put plans in place to allow the High Net Worth Angel Investors and the 'Average Joe' investor to participate in funding companies, buying the stocks in those companies before they were available to the public, that they didn't meet through a friend or advisor or a membership in an investor club.  They would hear about these investment opportunities through a general solicitation via the internet or other media that the company was selling equity of their private company.  And it wasn't until 2016 that REG CF (Regulation Crowd Funding) was fully available for investors to share in the wealth of these types of startup companies.  Equity Based Crowd Funding has been hailed as the great economic equalizer for aspiring entrepreneurs and investors at all income levels, yet many traditiional angel investors and venture capitalists are resistant to co investing on deals that have received funding from the crowd.   Karen will break it down for both entrepreneurs and investors on how crowd funding, specifically REG CF, can integrate into a capitalization strategy for companies at every stage of growth.
Karen Rands is the best selling author of Inside Secrets to Angel Investing, hailed as the #1 source for those investors getting started as investors in private equity.   You can learn more about Karen, her offerings, and her book at http://karenrands.co
