The Compensating Power Dynamic of American Inner Life
Compensation drives the striving and seeking economy in America today. Join me in a brief history of the last 600+ years that inform American power dynamics today.
From the black death to the witch trials to the desire to become famous and rich in the West—I'll walk you through the various compensations of these very influential social outlooks. The main theme is the sense of lack, and we'll trace this thread through the origin of patriarchal society as it is formed and operating today in relationships and politics.
We'll arrive at how this shows up in the way we talk to ourselves and the people in our community and online—and the first step in acknowledging the sense of lack on a nervous system level. Healing the nervous system and the felt sense of lack is the remedy for the current situation happening in a fragmented society in the West, and I believe it starts with each one of us taking a wholeness-based approach instead.
