Today we are going to discuss helical piles as a foundation option you may not have thought of, or even know about. They can make your building efforts much more efficient, cut costs and take days off your projects schedule.

Our guest today is Roger Lauzon, owner of Techno Metal Post Hamilton-Durham, Inc. One of his, and his amazing wife Julie’s greatest accomplishment was having two sets of twins, Tristan and Audrik, aged 11, and Maddox and Caleb, aged 9. 

He has gone full circle in his career. His dad was running a construction site, building around 100 homes a year. Roger started working on the sites in summers starting at the age of 13. He loved all of the colorful characters he met on site, and became very familiar with the interactions with subs and the issues that occur on a job site. 

The bottom dropped out of the market in ’89 and his father decided to become a firefighter. Roger naturally wanted to follow in his footsteps, so he started his schooling to become a firefighter. He went to three colleges where he got certified as a Fire Protection and Safety Technician. He did a course at Texas A&M, then completed his paramedics course. He became a firefighter at age 23, which he pursued for about 10 years, during which he realized that he wanted something else.

In 2005 he bought a dealership with Techno Metal Post, and never looked back. He considers it the best decision of his life.
