The Complex Human Mind
Fettered and manacled,
A prisoner of the mind,
Bound by conscience,
Will free will I find?
Is free will mirage
For the human kind?
The brighter we get
The greater the bind?
Our mood swings are violent
Gentle they're not,
Transition is instant
For today's human lot.
Ecstasy on demand,
Who has time to wait?
With the undertaker
Waiting at the front gate.
Is evolution responsible for this awful mess?
Cos the kingdom of animals
Seems all happiness?
That kingdom’s regret
Is that a rampaging man,
Is damaging the earth
As best as he can.
