We break down the season finale of FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER—some people loved it, some not-so-much. We discuss the reactions... also, we fill you in on what you probably missed at the Oscars (not much). And the first ever SOAP CON LIVE happens this week. Creators Lacretia Lyon and Susan Eisenberg (voice of the animated Wonder Woman!) are here to tell us about it.
As we come to the end of Marvel's EPIC and game-changing The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we have to ask ourselves: Who will wield the shield? Who SHOULD wield the shield? And why does it matter? PLUS, did you see that AWESOME Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings trailer? We can't wait... plus, a lot of free-wheelin' hosts on this week's show!
Kong. Godzilla. They've stomped their way to world dominance once again, saving the planet (and Hollywood!) in the process. With a world closed by a pandemic, how did these two classic movie monsters revive the boxoffice, and HBO Max? PLUS, we discuss the rising tension on Falcon and Winter Soldier, new Star Trek news, and that mind-blowing new Optimus Prime toy that blew Kevin Smith's (and our) minds!
The Con Guys take you inside the UPSIDE DOWN! We discuss Stranger Things and our recent experience at L.A.'s STRANGER THING DRIVE-THRU. The year is 1985 and a world of bitchin’ tunes, mullets and monster hunts awaits. Hop into your car, drive to the Starcourt Mall and find yourself at the heart of the action. With real-life locations from the series and mind-blowing audio and visual effects, the Stranger Things Drive-Thru Experience is a must-do for fans of the series. And tons of collectibles for purchase, of course.
He’s basically one of the very first true-life superheroes! And now he’s got his very own comic book. Written and illustrated by Daryl Penington and M.J. Baker, and edited by Daneil Hancock, SAMSON: RISE tells the story of one of the most famous Judges of Israel with flashbacks of Samson’s rise and fall. Who said the Bible had to be boring? You won't find that here, because this comic is full of action, drama, and visceral, in-your-face artwork... and also hope and redemption.
The organizers of San Diego Comic-Con have announced a smaller in-person event for Thanksgiving weekend this year! Is it a hard sell, will anyone go, and when will tickets go on sale? Plus, we discuss Episode 2 of Falcon and Winter Soldier, the new Invincible series on Amazon, and the return of The Mighty Ducks.
In this special BONUS episode, we preview the two days of programming for the 2021 WONDERCON, being held online for the second year in a row because of the pandemic. We discuss the panels, some exclusives, and our favorite memories of Wondercons past.... Wondercon is the little brother convention of San Diego Comic-Con, held every spring in Anaheim (except for that one year it was held in downtown L.A., but we try to think of that year)... Enjoy!
Wondercon, which happens every spring, is the little brother convention to San Diego Comic-Con — and it's definitely one of our favorite. It's normally held at the Anaheim Convention Center, directly across the street from the Disneyland Resort, but because of the ongoing pandemic, this year it's being held virtually for the second year in a row. Called WONDERCON@HOME, it's got two days of video panels, vendors, exclusives, and even a cosplay masquerade. Here, THE CON GUY show previews some of the highlights we're looking forward to. The online event happens March 26-27.
It was the battle of the titans, as DC and Marvel slugged it out in the biggest comic book weekend in years. Zach Snyder’s Justice League arrived on HBO Max and a million fans rejoiced—was it worth the wait? One day later, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiered with blockbuster numbers. Who won the weekend? There’s so much geeky goodness (Granny Goodness?) this week, it’s hard to fit it into just one show!
Zack Snyder’s magnum opus arrives this week, over four hours of angsty, slow-motion super hero action. How does this new Justice League stack up against Joss Whedon’s version? Better? Worse? Meh? Ben saw an advance screening and he has opinions—LOTS of them. Plus, Katie brings us up to speed on the latest convention news—including Wondercon volunteers. And more!
