Managing a mortgage with her husband, Sara, a mature student at 33, is finishing her degree to become an educator. She advocates that“Housing is a human right.” With over a decade in finance, Sara understands money, but her corporate job left her feeling disposable. During the pandemic, she recalls, “My job didn’t care if I lived or died.” That realization gave her the courage to pursue what she truly wanted. Now she balances tuition, bills, and a mortgage while studying humanities and art history. “I feel very lucky to be in this situation,” she says, prioritizing spending on what truly matters with support from her husband and family.
