Semester Two, Module Three:
Weather Network Coverage of Inclusive Emergency Preparedness Workshop
This third module on inclusive emergency preparedness features the nationally televised coverage by The Weather Network. The first module features a presentation by CEO Melanie Taddeo during National Seniors Month (see Semester Two, Module One) and the second module features the entire proceedings of the workshop held at Centennial College on May 15, 2026 (Semester Two, Modele Two).
This module features the report produced and aired by the Weather Network. The module highlights the practical tips for seniors and people with disabilities on how to be prepared in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
The body of this module was produced by the Weather Network, and is reproduced here with permission for educational and information purposes.
The workshop was delivered in the Auditorium at the Ashtonbee Campus of Centennial College in Scarborough on May 15, 2026.
Partners included Canadian Red Cross, the Weather Network, Ontario Ministry of Emergency Preparedness, Toronto Fire, Toronto Police Service and Toronto Paramedics. Media partners included the campus radio stations and media networks of Toronto Metropolitan University, George Brown Polytechnic and University of Toronto-Scarborough.
Special guests incuded the Consul General of Ghana, Excellency Peter Taylor, Member of Parliament Salma Zahid, and Member of Provincial Parliament David Smith.
