  • Like A Tree

    JEREMIAH 17:7-8
But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him
they are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

In the Bible trees symbolize life, growth, fertility and stability, reflecting the abundant blessings and fruitfulness that God has woven into all creation. Trees provide the entire framework for God’s plan of redemption, from Genesis to Revelation and throughout the Bible believers are exhorted to be rooted and grounded, branches attached to the vine, bearing leaves that do not wither and fruit it's season. Furthermore God is the vine keeper, pruning us to cultivate fruitful growth causing us to be a crown in His hand!
Since God said we would be like trees, He did so for very good reasons, so let's see what we can learn from today's teaching about our Christian walk and being Like a Tree

  • Stand As One With Authority

Matthew 8:5-10 Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
Thanks for joining in with us for this week's message from Pastor Juan, which is about the authority we have in Christ, the weapons of warfare He's given us and the whole armour of God's Word.

  • The Other Side of the Storm

Mark 5:1-20 Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,

The devil will bring storms to distract us, take our focus off God, rob us of our hope, trust and faith in god, to steal our dreams and ultimately to destroy God’s plans for our life.
God will use storms  to help us regain our focus on him, seek refuge under his protection, to remember that He alone is our strong tower and place of safety and prompts us to seek out His purpose and plans for our life

So some storms are satanic, others are self inflicted  due to poor choices, bad decisions & a lack of commitment to God's word and some storms are sent by God to bring about His plans and purposes but through it all, we are comforted to know
That in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.  Romans 8:28
This leads us to the topic of Divine Providence which means, whatever the storm and whatever the reason for the storm, God will work it out on the other side to fulfill His purposes. Through Divine Providence God will see to it that absolutely everything that needs to be done to bring about His purposes and Sovereign Will, will be done!

  • Open Our Eyes

“Eyes that look are common; eyes that see are rare.”  J Oswald Sanders

MATTHEW 20:33 They said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.”

I'm struck by the plurality of this request, how not one but two blind men, cried out, "have mercy on us,"  how two, not one blind men cried out Jesus Son of David, even though physically blind, spiritually they recognized His Kingship, His Eternal Throne. This caught Jesus attention, which led Him to ask, "what do you want me to do for you," to which they answered,"we want our eyes to be opened"

Jesus knows what we need before we ask him, but He wants us to admit our need to Him. He wants us to recognize our own inability and acknowledge our weaknesses before him, for his strength is perfected in and through our weaknesses. We can only know ourselves by knowing Him and in order to know Him, our spiritual eyes need to be open.

Proverbs 29:18 where there is no vision the people perish

  • Endurance and Perseverance

MARK 13:13  And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Without endurance and perseverance, we will not be able to stand against the difficulties, temptations, trials and attacks of the enemy. Endurance and perseverance enables us to stand on God's Word at times when it looks like we're not going to make it. Endurance and perseverance develop godly character. James 1 says perseverance will make us perfect and complete lacking nothing

Endurance is the ability to withstand hardship or adversity  and the ability to sustain stressful effort or activity over a prolonged period of time. Without endurance we cannot stand

Perseverance is the ability to continue on a journey despite obstacles, to reach a destination or goal. It's about taking an active posture in response to hardship, and requires hard work. Perseverance involves intentionality, and a purpose beyond self. It can force you to become a different person than you were before you started, and can make you strive for excellence. Because  endurance is the ability to withstand difficulties

  • Jesus Wants to Be Your Shepherd!

Isaiah 53:6 we all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Most Christians know Jesus as their Savior but how many Christians know Jesus as their Shepherd?
Most people reject the idea of being labeled a sheep but that's because there's a rebel in the heart of every person. Most of us are focused on the desires of our own heart and not God's, we're focused on I want, I think and I fell rather than hwat God wants, thinks and feels. Therefore we reject the idea of being sheep because sheep are considered mindless and dumb.
As a Believer, the best and safest place for us to be is knowing Jesus, The Creator of The Universe as our Shepherd. Thanks for joining in with us and listening to this week's message

  • Standing on God's Word

Ephesians 6:12 “for we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies, the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world.”  (The Living Bible)

The spirit of heaviness is a person, a spirit of fear is a person, anger, hatred and rejection are persons, disembodied spirits who need a host. When we agree with them, they move us in a negative direction away from The Spirit of God. This means that we are constantly engaged in a struggle against unseen forces of evil but the Good News is that God has given us His Word as a weapon of warfare.

Thanks for joining us for this week's message, we truly believe it will bless you

  • Fruit Flows From Love
    Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

     John 15:5
I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.

God is Love and The Fruit of the Spirit is His Fruit and all the other fruit flow from His Love. The Fruit of the Spirit is the character of God revealed in Jesus Christ and lived out in the lives of Christians. These are the personal qualities of the character of God and through cultivation and pruning they change our character.

Thanks for joining us for this week's message

We believe it will be a blessing in your life
